After i have peruse through the story OP narrated above, understand that every individual or investors has different ways in dealing with anything new they have just have little knowledge about, simply because they are opportune of benefiting one or two from it, so assuming I'm the OP that was there with those guys that having such discussion that is so loud, one thing will surely come my mind, that will make me from not involving myself in such discussion, because scammers can come with different strategies that we are not aware of, OP incase of next time please avoid joining discussions, even if the people around you is discussing something that might interest you, so it is was very good that you were able to ask them some questions and to be able identify that those two are still newbies that needs to learn so much things.

For me, I see such incident as an act of over bragging, which always don't usually end well in most cases. And I'm happy you were able to wait and approach him to know what exactly he was talking about, if he is truly a profitable trader or not. Because one thing I have noticed is that people something very well don't use to brag in public, as it is always these newbies who just  know little about Bitcoin that   always talk public and claiming how much they much audibly.
