For me, I see such incident as an act of over bragging, which always don't usually end well in most cases. And I'm happy you were able to wait and approach him to know what exactly he was talking about, if he is truly a profitable trader or not. These newbies always overdo things; once they start journey, they start talking anyhow in public. Just imagine if you were a bad person, I think you would harmed them. That's why we they always say we should try to keep our investment secret, because you don't know who is against you.
