1. Once you have achieved your profit target:
once I achieved the target I do withdraw and leave some amount and continue play. I need to satisfy myself and entertain. 2. When feeling overconfident: This is not really overconfident but a joyful moment, you are winning and you are enjoying it, you should continue and feel the joy. It will end up soon so be careful 3. When you are unable to control yourself: This is why you must deposit the amount you can lose and not too much, When you go gambling you must set your mind that the funds you deposit will be gone. so enjoy it.

Knowing when to stop is a very necessary first step to know before even going into gambling. Setting a boundary and ensuring that it is not influenced by greed nor indecision. If you can stop when you planned to stop, you already have an edge over losses. A person who is winning seems to be at a very high risk of loosing more money because if he continues winning, he will forget losses and may continue to double his stakes until he has crashed down the lane.
Loosing too expose a person to further losses because he could intend to make up for his losses and end up loosing more. I think the best target a person can set in gambling to determine when to stop is by setting aside a particular amount of money (which you can afford to loose) for gambling. And when you have exhausted the money either with profit or loosing it out, you stop for the mean time and not chasing your loss which can drag you into more ruins.

So this question goes to the house: what can really make you to quit gambling when you’re still winning?
Once you get to your profit target of the day will you stop or continue betting just because luck is on your side at that moment?
Psychologically, you won't and it won't be easy. I mean, you're winning and your mind will be fixated that it will continue and if it does you'll just go with the flow of things. On the second question, I think it comes down on how discipline you are as a gambler. If you have a target for a day, you'll abide and stick on that not because you think luck is on your side. People tend to ignore it most of the time only to have it all lost at the end of the day.

I feel this is just delusional thinking, and here's why: The moment you're in profit or winning, and that's your main motive in gambling, then it would be more than difficult to use daily result to "call it quit". If let's say you're in X5 profit today, and you said, "okay, I've reached my target profit, let's call it quit for the day", what about tomorrow, are you going to be in profit? Or will you lose X10 of what you've won today? Truth is, the only quit that will ensure you really won is the quit to never go back again. If not, that's all just an illusion. Now, in the overall topic: I think gambling shouldn't be used as a means of livelihood for some people—I know it works well for some—especially those that isn't seeing any profit but constantly losing no matter the discipline, strategy or whatever they apply. These set of people, if they love gambling so much, should do it moderately without any heavy expectations placed on it. But if you're doing it that it will better your life, I think that will be a straightforward path to financial, and mental ruin. And if expectations are reduced, I don't think gamblers will be stressing too much over the things you highlighted in the OP.

1. Having a target may help, but I think before you have a target, you should have the ability to control your own greed. You could set a target, but it would mean nothing when greed takes over. 2. Feeling overconfident may make you overbet, but I personally experience the opposite. When I start feeling pessimistic, I stop. Maybe it's because I'm pessimistic by nature 3. Yeah, self control is a must. It should be listed as #1, the top priority. Losing control often leads to worse situations because every decision after that is often irrational. But unfortunately, the one who can recognize that a decision is irrational is not the one playing. For me, what can make me stop gambling is the initial balance I have. Saying gambling is for entertainment may be a boring phrase, but in reality, it really helps me. From the beginning, I already count my deposit as a loss. It's the cost for me to have fun. When I win, it's good. But when I lose, I don't really think about it and don't make a new deposit to chase losses.

Most gamblers gain more confidence in themselves when they win money by gambling. They think that their research and their decisions are right and can help them win. They completely forget that luck plays a big role in winning when gambling. When they can win money by gambling with the help of luck, their greed increases. They become emotional and gambling more money the next time but in the end, they lose more money in the hope of winning. Losing more money through gambling is only due to the gambler's own mistake. After winning money, when the gambler takes a long time to control his emotions and limits himself to his own means, the gambler can control himself and protect himself from the danger of gambling.

If a gambler set a target and stick to it regardless of the outcome then he will be able to overcome further losses even if he was lucky to win throughout the game, because when some gamblers are lucky and have a streak wins he will be tempted to continue playing the game even when he has used up the target he starts playing with his win, this is greedy and that is how the uncontrollable losses are incur, when it could have been avoided by sticking to the main plan, discipline plays an important role when setting or planing a budget, also if a gambler happens to be lucky to make just a good win in one goal there is nothing wrong in withdrawing from the game for awhile then continue later on rather than gambling recklessly till everything goes down the drain.

If you believe that gambling is not all about luck and profits, then you will know eventually when to quit the game. Consistent wins will never guarantee that the next bet will stay the same, at least you know how to control your emotions, then quitting will be easier. And let's be honest, being greedy is a normal thing in gambling. But being irresponsible and reckless are not. You know you have to stop now, otherwise you will lose everything what you previously won.

As a long-time gambler. I usually stop whenever I have already played enough like an hour of a game regardless of the result. This limit is due to my personal eye condition that makes me force stop whether I like it or not. The only time I stop earlier is when I already hit a big win like hitting good side bet on Blackjack or x1000 above multiplier on slot games on a few tries. This early win rarely happened to me tho.

For me still depends on the risk management, when it comes you feel you are winning and try to seek until where does the luck it could bring why not take the risk and still with proper pre-caustions of course like if you lose already at least 3x in a row I guess i consider that as stop remarks to control myself to do not take home for nothing. Having a balance target is a must too because this will prevent you to have overextend with your gameplay like having a Take profit and not over committed.
I do not quit gambling I just measure the risk.

Not everyone sees gambling that way ,many view it as entertainment while some are looking for profit, so it depends on individual and how they view it ,but mindset will help a lot ,having the right mentality will tell u when to quit and continue, I gamble but I don't put my entire hope on it , if I am lucky enough to win one or two slip ,I rest for the day ,over excitement and too much hope can cause more harm them good .
Secondly I usually have target ,I have a specific amount I gamble with in a week ,so I know how much I can bet with in a day , I don have bet more than 5 slip a day ,wether is a win or not ,I stop once I exceed my limit ,and it has been helpful to me .

Most of us know when a gambler should stop gambling, they cannot stop in time despite knowing the fact and the reason for this is that when they start winning in gambling, they forget everything. Many can control themselves when they lose, but when they win, they lose control. Of course, everyone should set a limit before starting gambling. They should strictly follow those rules by themselves. If they lose, they should stop gambling quickly and without delay. Some gamblers think that the day they win, they may win more, but in reality, it is foolish to think like that. After winning, the chances of losing are more.
Gamblers must avoid gambling with emotions. If there is emotion in gambling, the chances of losing increase. Many people cannot value their money during gambling, but when they calm down after losing, they regret why they did not stop at that time. If a gambler can control himself and manage his gambling in any situation, he will definitely be able to protect himself from major losses.

Yes I expect a smart gambler to stop their gambling activities when wins start coming, because you can't know which win you are going to see last, the moment that luck changes you will still keep going at it thinking it will change back and that's where you will start losing.
Many gamblers have end up losing alot more than they already planned for this way, the casino games are so programmed to make you lose your head, one or two wins are enough to make you forget why you started gambling in the first place.
Once you get some good wins it's smart to expect losses next, stop gambling and take your win until another time again, and this time you are going to risk not what you won the last time but something affordable. Be Smart.

So in all what you do knowing when to walk away from gambling matters a lot. I don’t see any good reason why anyone wants to lose money before they’ll decide to take a break from the game. I guess most gamblers have had this experience. It is always hard to leave when you are having the best time. It is natural to assume that you would keep having wins. So this question goes to the house: what can really make you to quit gambling when you’re still winning? Having a gambling budget or plan is essential to control yourself. Having the mentality that you can lose all you have won will make you walk away. Once you get to your profit target of the day will you stop or continue betting just because luck is on your side at that moment?
I have this mentality that not all wins are profits. Some of them are recovered funds from your past gambling losses. This is why I withdraw my wins immediately to avoid falling into the temptation of gambling them off.

Feeling over confident is relative to the situation at hand. Most gamblers feel that way because they see a great potential of winning opportunity just sitting a mile away from them, and that feeling alone gives them the confidence that it’s possible but then, this is gamble we are talking about. Nothing is certain over here, even at 90+ minutes the whole course of the game can change to something else. So the best mindset is to learn how to appreciate small wins that way you won’t get caught up chasing the imaginable at all cost. One thing I like to put in mind while gambling is that any profit is worth respecting regardless of the amount.

I doubt if gamblers think this way. When a gambler is playing and they experience loss, the first thing that comes to their mind is, they want to get back the losses they made to the casino. They don't stop until they either win that money or they loss more than they anticipated. 2. Feeling overconfident may make you overbet, but I personally experience the opposite. When I start feeling pessimistic, I stop. Maybe it's because I'm pessimistic by nature I think overconfident isn't a problem but this depend on the kind of gambling you involved. I have bet on sportsbooks and win 3 bets of running matches, I will be confident in my idea strategy and will do it again and again until it doesn't gives me what I want again. I don't know about casino players that rely on luck, I'm not sure if they ever have confidence on something they know how the backend works. 3. Yeah, self control is a must. It should be listed as #1, the top priority. Losing control often leads to worse situations because every decision after that is often irrational. But unfortunately, the one who can recognize that a decision is irrational is not the one playing.
Self control is everything, you should be able to control yourself when gambling. There are people that don't know how to control their emotions when they see money, this has ruined many gamblers

Having a gambling budget or plan is essential to control yourself. Having the mentality that you can lose all you have won will make you walk away.
All the money a gambler deposited on any gambling on any gambling sites have high probability that it would be lost. That is how gambling sites are operating. It is very good to have a gambling budget, and it should not be more than 1% of the person's weekly income and that is also if the person is having discretionary income. A gambler that also win should know that the probability of losing is very close. Gambling can be good, but the way some people are gambling is not good at all just because they do not follow the gambling budget percentage that they should used. Some people do not have gamble budget at all. All their money is their gambling budget.

It’s best to stop, but that’s easier said than done. What I tend to do is carry on a bit longer, but at the first loss – as soon as I notice the winning streak is turning around – I stop. Too many people keep betting more and more when they start losing, like hooked, and that’s a mistake.

Direct answer is Yes. Just as it’s important for gamblers to know when to stop when they’re losing, that’s exactly how they should know where to draw the line during a winning streak. What appears to be a winning streak could end up turning into your worst nightmare, because winning streaks has a way of making people feel they’re invincible and they’ve been given an open cheque to win back all the money they’ve lost in gambling, and giving in to this psychology can push one into taking bigger risk, become greedy and making stupid decisions, which could’ve been avoided if they had just drawn the line.

Once you get to your profit target of the day will you stop or continue betting just because luck is on your side at that moment?
We are very much good in advising and giving good contributions but deed down we're victims of this same act, I'm saying this because yesterday I lost all my wining because I refused to take a break, I won $50 and I was busy repeating bets till I lost all, in my mind I wanted to multiply it for weekend, I wanted o use the $50 to get more money for weekend games only to lost all again and now I have nothing in my wallet to play bet this weekend. No matter how experienced you are in gambling greed will some point overwhelmed you. Every gamblers are greedy you can't deny this fact. We keep learning everyday, the day you try to have control over greedy gambling won't be difficult for you to take a break even wining or losing once you are not longer comfortable you will definitely quit, it's better than losing more, its better than losing than losing money.
