If you are gambling just for fun, you can make money and still decide to gamble and be wise with it. Gambling with small amount of money is what that is very important to take note of.

But if the amount of money won is huge, I will quit gambling immediately and leave the pleasure alone. I will use the money won to continue the pleasure because I can feel good just for winning huge amount of money. That alone is fun and pleasurable.

Depending on the time, gamblers create trends in order. Therefore, one must always be cautious. Because a gambler is not completely safe even if they gamble for a little money and fun. I will choose to stop in profit rather than stopping because I am losing. That is the mindset that gamblers need to have. You don't wait for your losing streak just to get reminded that you need to take a rest for the day. While we can also continue if we want but just make sure that you've already withdrawn your capital and go on with the profit or, capital and then a bit of profit for withdrawal and little remaining profit to proceed betting.

There's no way gamblers will stopped gambling when they're still winning, one thing about gamblers is that the moment they start winning their bets that's when they'll gamble mostly. If they where placing their bets with $200 for example, they'll increase to it maybe like $500, all thought is to hits a jackpot true with their last winning.

I believe that most addiction-related problems stem from a player becoming overly confident at a certain point and deciding to place a bet when they absolutely shouldn't. This overconfidence is at its peak when a player is winning and the more they’ve won, the stronger it becomes. In that moment, a sense of thrill and euphoria takes over, practically screaming at them to keep going because an opportunity like this might never come again. But it’s all just self-deception, at any given moment, luck can run out, and the player begins to lose bet after bet. Through experience, I’ve learned that it’s better to walk away while ahead at least for a week to reflect on what happened before deciding whether or not to continue playing.

Many times I have been so tired that I had to stop playing & move away from the big screen... not to mention obligations & other responsibilities! But if I have free time and I'm in a good mood, the chances of stopping are pretty slim.

When we have free time and desire to play, no matter whether we are losing or winning, it's hard to stop. If we are losing, we will add up more (if we have funds, of course)... That feeling that our lucky hit is just around the corner. Winning gives us that feeling that now is the lucky moment, and we will try to make the most of it... Which usually backfires at one point.

I really want to know the reality, can someone really stop by controlling themselves while making a profit? I have seen many gamblers, they never stop betting when they are making a profit. Even if they lose some amount of money after making a profit, then their mentality is to get back the money they made profit. A friend of mine sometimes spends the whole night betting just for this purpose. But I always try to control myself. And when I make a certain amount of profit, I also stop betting. Because I know that I will be safe in betting as long as I can control my emotions. Entertainment is obtained from betting only when making a continuous profit is not the goal. Just as a fund limit should be set for betting, every gambler should also set a limit for profit. So that after a certain percentage of profit, that gambler stops betting. This decision is really very beneficial. If you follow it, the risk of addiction is reduced a lot. I myself have been betting for a long time, more involved in sports betting. There is no limit for some player. Different people has different target and different desire. While some people gamble to make some money, some gamble just for entertainment. The person who plays for entertainment usually does not have a limit when they are even winning. They continue to play until they feel satisfied. But yeah, the recommendation should be to stop when someone is winning and made some money.

I personally do not gamble these days. But when I gamble, my daily budget does not exceed $100 limit a session unless I am placing bets on sports. Yes, I actually stop playing when I win something reasonable.

The issue with people who gamble in general is how there is no actually a line on where "enough" is defined.
We have seen stories on the internet about lucky people who turned 50$ into millions of dollars thanks to a very lucky session on slots, or people who bought a lottery ticket for a few bucks and turned into millionaires moments later.

Those kind of stories prompt people to try to emulate them when they believe they are having a lucky day, which eventually turn into the biggest trap of gambling, as they will eventually lose their profits to the edge of the house.

Some people tends to gamble their ego whenever they are winning what do I mean by this? When someone is winning in gambling there is this overconfidence and joy that always makes them look or appear like they are the founder of the game and as such they can not be able to make loss and this is very common to every human even though some don't gamble their ego because of their discipline but they will always have this joy and overconfident. Whenever I experience successful runs in gambling, I try to enjoy it to the fullest and until I know the luck is not flowing again. To ensure I maximise the opportunity while ensuring much of the winnings, for every major win, I withdraw 90% of the winning  and continue gambling with only 10% and whenever that balance is lost, I'll be done for the day. I learnt this method after months of failing to make withdrawals from successful bets, some of which are appreciable wins yet lost back in the process of chasing more winning. Before i gamble for a day, i usually have in mind that which i am set to achieve gambling, so if i have a certain amount i fund my account with, my target is to make either two or three times of that amount, so once i get very lucky such that i am able to win that amount as soon as possible, i leave, same applies when i loose same amount, i immediately exit and not fund again, i try to make sure to stick to my gambling budget and rule, that way i get to gamble more healthy and not get carried away and loose too much or over gamble out of excitement and expose my self to gambling addiction or losses.

These Discipline, if applied, will most times save us a lot, its such that i believe and know that many gamblers are very likely to know all of this but the ability to stop when it becomes necessary they do is one of the biggest challenge they do have.

If you have a daily profit target, I have bad news for you: someday you'll lose everything you have.

I'm into betting, but these days mostly for fun - just a few bets on weekends.
I stopped after I'd made a good profit and had about a year and a half of profitable months in a row. I just couldn't combine my main job and betting while doing well at both.

And you're talking about getting the prize and running away before you lose it. That's about gambling addicts.

No i don't agree with you at all, the smart thing you can do is understand that gambling is just a damn game, a way to pass time and not to earn money.
If you win money, you simply get to play longer, that's all.
Greed comes from thinking you can get rich by gambling.

Stop gambling is a matter of satisfaction, if we talk one gambling session then a quick win often does not make the gambler happy, he will actually be more determined to play aggressively and end up losing. We have heard a lot of advice about when to stop gambling but the fact is that up to this point no one has really obeyed the rules. They will come and deposit for the umpteenth time. There are only 2 that can stop a gambler :
1. Already felt satisfied and came to the point that the game he played was saturated.
2. Lose everything so that the capital does not remain.

Not that there is no chance of being able to control yourself, it's just that everyone's point of consciousness is different.
