Should they sell their Bitcoin or they should keep holding to it despite the unstable state of Bitcoin price recently?

If you panic and consider selling everything, then Bitcoin game simply isn't for you.
It's the newcomers or those who lack strong gut instinct who end up getting caught out by such kind of volatility.

HODLing isn't just about sitting around blindly, it's a mental game.
If you aren't in tight spot regarding cash flow and aren't over-leveraged then there's no logical reason to sell.
For those who panic sell, market essentially takes their coin right out of their pocket.
So if you wanna be a charitable donor, you could panic sell.

Due to the fluctuation of Bitcoin price most investors who are holding their Bitcoin are scared of losing their entire Bitcoin because of the frequent changes of Bitcoin price recently, some investors are panic of selling all their Bitcoin because they don't want to lose everything.

So what are your advice to those long-term investors?
Should they sell their Bitcoin or they should keep holding to it despite the unstable state of Bitcoin price recently?

Losing all of Bitcoin, but how? I think you misunderstood the basic fundamentals of holding; in my view, what you're describing happens often in the trading space, but it is not possible when you are holding Bitcoin for a long-term plan. Trading Bitcoin and holding Bitcoin are two different things. And, if you are trading in the future section with high leverage then in such case there can be chances you can lose your whole funds if trade goes against your opened postion. (DYOR!)

Getting my point or not? And when you are holding for a long-term plan, then sooner or later you will recover your loss. So, the answer to your question is very simple from my point of view. Rather than panicking, you should buy more, following the DCA strategy. This will help you to make more profit at the end of the day. DYOR!

Is it because Binance was hacked that made them panic? It would be a stupid move for them to sell just because of that.

What advice would I give to these people? It's their business whether they want to sell or not. I have no say in what they do with their Bitcoin.

It's up to them whether they want to hold or not. They should understand what they're investing in. If they sell just because Binance got hacked, or some other incident happened, it means their tolerance limit only goes that far.

The investors that are selling their bitcoin due to current drop in bitcoin price are still newbie, because people that have stayed long in crypto space will already understand how bitcoin works, and even if their is drop in bitcoin price, they are not going to panic. We should know about bitcoin volatility already, I feel the first thing everyone is suppose to know before they invest in bitcoin is the price volatility, don’t just jump into bitcoin investment, because you will end up selling at loss.

People that have been in crypto space for some time should already know that whenever bitcoin price is down, it’s gives us opportunity to accumulate bitcoin at a cheaper price, that’s not the period which we are suppose to panic. If you have been holding before, just keep on holding, and if you are having opportunity to buy more just accumulate more bitcoin. I see no reason why anyone should panic when the price is down, because with time it’s just going to bounce back.

I think you should be more specific instead of just saying 'most investors' because that's not the reality, it is only the investors who lack a proper understanding of this market and Bitcoin in general who would think that their invested funds are at a risk if the price is going down and that they are going to lose everything if the market doesn't stop going lower. An investor who knows everything, has enough knowledge about the market and Bitcoin in particular would know that such things are pretty normal, and that the prices will eventually recover and they are not losing anything.

And, about the most recent drop in the price, it's not that severe, to be honest, and it is caused because of the Binance hack, and I personally think that based on the fact that this was the biggest crypto theft of this industry so far, I think the effect of it on the market was way too lenient, and I was expecting more bleeding, but surprisingly, the market didn't react so negatively about it, and that's great, because it proves that the market is getting mature over time.

Finally, an investor should always remember one thing, a loss is not a loss as long as it is unrealized, and if you turn your unrealized losses into realized losses then that's your fault, because Bitcoin has the potential to turn the tables over time, you just need to have trust on it.

Long term investors must understand the risk involved when investing in Bitcoin. They don't have to tell us that they are not aware that the price of Bitcoin is volatile which means price can quickly fall or rise with in a short period of time.
Once an investor especially long term investors understand the reason why they are investing in Bitcoin, they should not be afraid of the market again whether price is going to fall or going to rise. There is much profits investing in a long term than being a short term holders and expecting to make quick profits from the crypto market.

Point of correction, you don't lose bitcoin while holding it when you are not scammed or hacked, its only the usd value that drops whenever there is a high sell volume compared to the buy/demand volume, and when demand rises above sell pressure, the usd value of your bitcoin also rises, this is how things work, 1 bitcoin is always 1 bitcoin and 0.5 bitcoin is always 0.5 bitcoin regardless of its usd value.

So what are your advice to those long-term investors?

It is not in my place to advice other people what to do with their bitcoin holding, a good investor will carry out a proper research before investing in any asset, which includes Bitcoin, and in understanding the risks and possibilities in which-ever asset one choose to invest in, such investor should know exactly what to do when things turn out not to be going the way he had thought or imagined it would or should.

There is no way you can lose all your bitcoin due to the recent fluctuation in price. Because Bitcoin investment is not like gambling, where you can either win or lose your capital if the prediction you made didn't go as planned. As the only thing that could happen now that the price of Bitcoin is depreciating, which we all know was caused as a result of the Binance exchange that was hacked by the North Korea group, is for its price to dip more as a result of panic among crypto holders globally. But the moment everything stabilizes and Binance is able to secure its future funds from potatial hacks. The price of Bitcoin will bounce back to the $80k bench mark it was before the hack happend.

So what are your advice to those long-term investors?

Stop looking at chart every five minute!

Why is it that people who want to have peaceful life in IRL are having heart attack by screening their portfolio? If you are investing money that you need for next month's rent or groceries, there is no way but to panic. If position sizing is not right, even a slight correction in  market will shake you.

If you view correction as an opportunity rather than curse, then there’s no problem at all

After buying Bitcoin and you decide to be a long term investor then have removed your Bitcoin from exchange to your non custodial wallet for holding but still you get scared of the market dumping then you should sell all your Bitcoin you are holding for you to have peace of mind and not get scared again because I expected you to have already decided to hold before buying Bitcoin for long term.

Holding Bitcoin while being in constant panicking is not going to be good for you because the Bitcoin market is always dumping and that is the reason you sell o always be scared. Do not be looking at the price of Bitcoin everyday or you will get a soft mind to leave investing in Bitcoin when you see the price falling and you will regrets making that decision too hence avoid monitoring the market..

As the name implies, "long term investors" I am sure if a person wants to venture into Bitcoin investment and wants to go into long term investment then they are supposed to understand what the long term investment entails so a person who chooses long term investment does not have anything to be worried about when the price of Bitcoin dips because in the long run there is definitely going to be ups and downs which are not avoidable in Bitcoin investment, it is only someone who does not know where he stands or a short term investor that will be bothered about the changes in price but the case is different from a long term investor who knows his stand.

Exactly! As you put more focus on the chart, there is a high chance of you overthinking and panicking. However, if you are a long term investor, in my honest opinion, we really need to know how to go about the current situation where the price of BTC is experiencing huge fluctuations. we should capitalize on this situation and buy while the price is low.

In matters investment, we should only invest excess cash which we could lose. we should also ensure that we separate our savings from our investments. You all need to be informed that Investing in crypto is not for the faint-hearted.

Grow patience, what makes you a long-term investor is your ability to hold while others are selling.

Continue holding, Bitcoin has the potential to do very well in the long run. Anyone doubting can sell, and give the market time, when investors who didn't sell will be celebrating their profits. Four years ago, Bitcoin never made an all-time high of $126K, now we are up there, and in the future, we will also make a new all-time high price, only investors who hold for the long term will benefit from the market.

Like you mentioned, they are called long term investors for a reason so the current market price should not stand as a diversion to the original plan. Bitcoin is not known to be a stable asset, it's volatility is where profits and loss is made but that depends on the actions traders take coupled with discipline and consistency.

People who sell their assets under panic or duress would aways regret their actions when the price goes up, but that's unchangeable. There is beauty in the bear season, because when other people ate complaining and panicking, one with understanding would know that it's the best time for accumulation.

By holding on to it and not doing anything with it, a long-term investor will not be swayed by price fluctuations, a situation most investors are accustomed to. If he sells it, he will immediately suffer a loss, but if he holds it, he has the opportunity to sell it as originally planned.

[...]

It seems at the first place they dont have a plan with their investment it is just a FOMO and make a rush buying and get paranoid when the market are against now with their trades. It does not create panic if you know what you are doing.

For long term investment if you know when to entry like a DCA strategy you must know when to exit like is this the same with the DCA? such as like that. Its normal to become volatility with the bitcoin so it's up to you how you will handle the risk.

Set bids for 21 million BTC across every exchange, that are automatically adjusted to move up to the latest ATH. Then do nothing else, but watch all the paper bitcoin exchange bullshit breathe its last breath.

So what are your advice to those long-term investors?
Should they sell their Bitcoin or they should keep holding to it despite the unstable state of Bitcoin price recently?

Long term investment is done with foresight and an end goal I'm mind. Even swing traders use the weekly and monthly timeframe to make their decisions. That way, so long as the long term bias is not affected by the short term or immediate draw downs, and you are sure by your analysis that there's still good confluence to back your long term vision, you'll be more inclined to buy from those who are panic selling than join in the selling frenzy.

What they normally do is of course hold.

They are here for long term holding so definitely they have witnessed and experienced the big dumps every year and since they survived those, it means they will continue to hold.

You get it right so perfectly. Long term investors may take years to invest in bitcoin and not sell it after long period of time. When they want to sell, they may only sell the profit or part of the profit. I have read researches before that those selling are not long term investors. Only short term investors are selling most while the long term investors continue to hold. I think the OP supposed to know the answer to his simple question. There is a reason they are called long term investors.

Aside from Satoshi the creator, Tim Draper is a good example as according to his interview he hasn't sold his Bitcoin since he purchased it in 2014, and at the current price he already has an unrealized profit of over $2 billion, and still not selling, that's the real definition of a long term holder.

Of course, you should still hold it, because the current decline in Bitcoin's price is clearly normal and nothing to worry about. In fact, if we have additional funds, we can continue accumulating so our Bitcoin can grow even more. So, instead of being afraid and selling Bitcoin at a loss, that's clearly not a good investment. Basically, experienced Bitcoin investors won't be affected by things like this. They have a clear goal, so essentially, they have a timeframe for holding Bitcoin, whether it's ten years or even more. So, when they see a drop in Bitcoin's price, it's clearly not a deterrent. Because, yes, it's only the current price. So, with this in mind, if you want to become a long-term Bitcoin investor, you must determine your intention regarding how long you will hold Bitcoin. You should also learn a lot about Bitcoin's price history so you don't panic when a price drop like the one experiencing now occurs.
