I think Artificial intelligence needs to be placed on hold for now, it's creating more problems than it's solving.

The world isn't ready for AI, it was all forced and the world is paying for it right now.

In some parts of the world, the people are not ready for public toilets and street trash cans, should we ban those too?

I generally do not care about what 4% of the world population in a boring region I have no desire to ever live, decide

Yeah, except for the last 100 years whatever the 4% has done it has influenced the rest!
In 2009 the USA got a cold, the end of the world nearly ended in a coma.
In 2021 they started printed money, inflation in other countries started running out of zeros to add.

The problem is AI that is honestly kinda dumb.

If AI is so dumb, why is eveyone scared shit about it?

Humans as a whole is the destruction of themselves, based on the fact that we feel we can create and control anything just because we actually do create stuffs, A.I should be absolutely put on hold for now due to the destruction it causes, we might look at it like a minor thing until we can actually control our creation a 100%. Because right now we cannot even differentiate a real video from a fake one, A.I is becoming so strong that we have no power to control anymore. We should at least try to make things easy without the help of A.I but that alone is a bit impossible due to how far we've come. we have come to the stage where we surely do depend on the help of Artificial Intelligence.

For me i feel 100% that the world at large ain't really ready for the usage of A.I we should slow down the progress by 70%.

When do you think is going to be the best time? In my opinion, I think the best time still remains now because the problems you are cautious of will still exist even if AI is introduced tomorrow.

Maybe what AI needs is regulation at this point to ensure that its introduction is not damaging. Maybe people need to be educated on the proper use of this Artificial Intelligence before the people who use it for bad purposes get to them and teach them the bad side instead of the good side of the technology.

I think, I also support this OP. AI has really drained a lot of big companies this year and how long will we just fold our arms and watch criminals steal everything from us because it's digital. The ban of AI will paralyze these hackers activities and make them suffer hard before they can get anything.

AI is causing more harm to investors than good which shouldn't be so. The fact is that humans are greedy and they take advantage of any new technology to carry out their criminal act. AI is good but it's used in the wrong way.

I get your point but there are other things to look at. No doubt AI has made it way easier for people to check out for vulnerabilities in codes.  This is not the major concern for me because it’s known to most developers that AI could easily do that. Then they just needed to be prepared for it. I think what we need to do is to also try to see how the use of AI can be integrated in checking those vulnerabilities that AI could easily identify i mean solving those issues with AI before another person discovers them and use them again us. That is the only way I think this could be done now because with the way The  AI is going, I don’t think any of this complaint or bill will be heard.

Putting AI on hold completely is not a solution to it. It needs proper control. Whenever there is any technological advancement there is always risk involved with it and same thing is happening with AI. Problem is that institutions are not trying to develop any proper regulations that are fast enough to keep up with its growth.

AI is tool and it is helping in a lot of fueld including healthcare, research, business and education. We cannot ignore benefits that we are getting from it just because there are people who are misusing that technology. It is the responsibility of the government to make clear rules, instead of just banning it. If there is a complete ban, it is going to create a lot of problems because countries that are developing AI will stop it and fall behind those who are continuing with it without any restriction. The world need proper and responsible development; it does not need technological shutdown.

I thought I am the only one thinking that AI come with some disadvantage in high makes it looks like we are not ready don’t because there are so many complains of AI taken our jobs and also AI being used for criminal activities. I know that so many people are happy with AI because it has generated sources of income for so many people across the world, but people are using it in a negative way because it makes their work easier especially scammers because all these exchange hacks are associated with the use of AI which help the scammers to have easy access to some sensitive information that help them in carrying out the scam.

Nothing can develop so fast that we won't be ready for it. AI isn't as amazing as many people think but it's quite good at accelerating the working process, so I see nothing wrong into developing it at the temp it's developing right now. And even if it develops faster than we will be ready, there is nothing we can do because there are open-source LLM models, that are getting better and better every day and how are they gonna control open-source LLM models? Maybe they'll stop giants like Claude and OpenAI but you have other countries as competitirs. What if China doesn't stop? Then why will the US slow down? Or what if other country doesn't stop? How can they force a 3rd country? It's not a nuclear weapon, it's a virtual thing.
Whether we are ready or not, there is nothing to stop this.

I don’t follow American politics much so I may be missing the backstory here. Why would the Americans be pushing for ban on “AI super intelligence” when other countries will not be doing the same. Doesn’t that put America at a disadvantage?

I am not sure but and I was thinking that this could be connected to the rampant hacks that are happening not only with the crypto wallets and exchanges but also with the banks from different countries.

^[1]But no, it's only said that there's a need to do some safety measures for added policies that should be applied to the developers of it.

The punishment as said if someone gets caught will 20 years of imprisonment and 10 years ban from the ai industry.
