8/8/2014 What do I win if it comes true? You would have made a 2000% return in 3 months. Is that prize not good enough lol?

I think most people who have bought BTC, especially over the past few months, have bought it in the expectation of it rising to a very high price (whether they admit it or not). I don't think many will have bought in the hope of it only doubling or tripling in value (though that would be nice). A lot of us dream of a massive return on our investment - let's hope it turns out to be more than a dream.

Statically speaking bitcoin can reach 10k withing a year are not null but at the same time hitting a price 10$ is also plausable, by there is a % that the price will remain in the 400-1k for quite a while and only major events affect bitcoin positively or negatively

It could reach that amount anytime when there big causes like dollar collapse, world war, a big country like india/russia/china/usa uses bitcoin as reserve, opec accept bitcoin or many big companies adopted bitcoin. My conservative prediction is January 1 2017.

the marketcap is currently about 7 bil. even if the price doubles, big holders will earn massive money and most likely dump before it would actually hit 10.000 usd. don't expect it to happen soon, we all know the effects of these dumpers

Indeed the next block reward halving is expected to be in Aug 2016, rather than 2017. Another website to check the ETA for next block reward halving for bitcoin is http://bitcoinclock.com/

Am I right in presuming that after the 2016 halving, the next one will be in 2020?

Yeah, about 4 years give or take. It's not very granular, but you can see here: http://cryptocoinstats.com/supplytracker.phpSometime around August of 2020.

To benefit merchant and consumer, it is better for the price to stabilize.

Yup, a high price will only help miners and holders. Now a stable price will help alot more people. More shops and merchants will trust receiving payments in it and will give us more places to spend it.
