Not to say I don't have faith in BTC.. But I don't think we will ever see numbers that high.
It could very well happen.. I just don't see it happening in our lifetimes.

Someone with the same thinking as me  . I tihnk bitcoin will top at maybe $3-4K before making it's slow fall down to $0. |

The adoption is till increasing and isn't complete at all, bitcoin could be worth around 100,000$ in the future,
I predict that $10,000 will be reached in late 2015.

Once it really hits the mainstream over the next 5 or so years, potentially could go a lot higher. I'd be happy if it hits $2000 by the end of the year  |

It would be nice for it to hit soon but I do not see that happening. We will be lucky I feel to see it hit that much by the end of 2015, again though I don't think you can ever predict what it will hit and when. We can only hope it will reach that high.

Nah, I wouldn't. I've been using bitcoin for so long that nothing (price related) really shocks me anymore. I myself don't think that $2K by then is unlikely at all. I just wondered if he based the estimation on analyzing or pure guessing. |

You're new here, huh? "Everyone" was shocked when it hit $30, $260, $1200... but that didn't stop it. Sold my first bitcoin at $100 (on Gox lol). Thought that that was the peak, and that it would never go any higher. Man, was I wrong! No one can predict the future, but nothing price related (up or down) in the long run would surprise me. |

This year seems way too early but who knows, we know things can get out of control real fast  The more we don't see a spike up in price the more likely the spike up in price is and the more violent it will be |

I wouldn't use the words "stupid guess" to describe that. While it is fairly unlikely IMHO, it is not impossible especially after seeing how much bitcoin price increase in the past. |
