Logo or character? I like the old logo, but there's no character to go with it.

Hardforks aren't that hard. It’s getting others to use them that's hard.

The orange logo is nice, and very familiar and while I think that it will be eventually replaced with a sleeker, perhaps more universal character, I don't think that the proposed logo design will be the one.

Having said that I do like the style of the proposed logo, just not for Bitcoin.

Both are good, I think the new logo shows maturity (which is anyway what Bitcoin has become).
I guess people will choose based on their preference Wink

I guess that's how polls and choice generally works lol. Either way the poll has little to no impact. There are lots of stickers produced, logos already posted on websites, images printed in peoples' minds.

It would take some serious coordination to find and replace the Bitcoin logo.

Old one hands down.
I still don't know who tricked the BTC foundation to destroy the strong marketing identity of the old symbol. Its like if some dude convinces the US Government to change $ to  IsI because it fits better on the new Samsung Galaxy S7 phablets. Aha.

This space is for lease, apparently.

Old one is already a brand, so the new one need a lot of customer information to pass through, and since costumer information cost money, better stuck what masses already known.

I agree, that it will take serious coordination to find and replace the Bitcoin logo. It would be wise to sort out the subject of official logo/symbol  before we hit mainstream & mass adoption.
It will be tough to get consensus now, but doable if organized properly.

The old one is fine for promotion and marketing Bitcoin.

The new one is fine for unicode, writing, and hopefully incorporating into our keyboards soon.
That's pretty easy. I already did it for German Keyboards
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=527447.msg5856310#msg5856310

and somebody else did it, with US Keyboard
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=60152.0

btw. reminds me about old Nazi Polls, where the Symbol you want People to "vote" is much bigger, than the Symbol you don't want People to choose:

haha , yeah we germans like good choices  Grin

....at least its a fair vote: in china there is only "yes"  Wink
