Question: How long before Bitcoinica takes a permanent dirt nap?
Never: It's the greatest thing since sliced bread, tastes great and less filling with no bitter aftertaste.
By the end of the first week of February 2012.
By the end of the first week of April 2012.
By the end of the first week of July 2012.
Not long after the Yakuza has finally sold all their bitcoins.

I think it already does. Unless the Yakuza really are trading bitcoin on margin...

do i hear a n00b crying?

LOL, aren't you just precious? Only small-brained teenage dipshits use the term noob, much less spell it n00b. I suppose I should add a poll choice just for the mentally 12 and under and set. That would be 31337, wouldn't it kiddies?

N00b is crying confirmed.

I think the pyramid schooled 714. He hasn't been back.

Also, your comment about buttcheeks is...well, confusing...

Reading your posts, I had a suspicion you were 714. Something about the style. Intelligent, worldly, cynical. While that may or may not be the case, here you are, bumping one of his threads. Again, I wish there was a way I could bet on this stuff. I guess it would be a difficult bet to verify though.

No problem, there's nothing like a down day to bring out the paranoia. You would be surprised what you can find using the search function on these forums, let me see what else I can dredge up  Smiley

I wouldn't call it paranoia, you simply remind me of him.

That's some real innarestin' price action today, no? Tokyo opens in less than two hours, I wonder if there's more fun to come?

Everyone was so happy with me when I dredged up this poll the last time that I wanted to know if that special feeling was a one time event  Wink

I think the idea and software behind bitcoinica make it viable long term.  Just needs an assload of cash to deal with people trading long periods of stability or short term drops.

Damn, it seems I voted "By the end of the first week of February 2012."

Who won?!

(This needed to be necroed)

- Likely we will either shut down the platform or re-develop entirely (which will take months instead of days).

After all the hacks it blows my mind that so many people are still willing to trust so much value with relatively unknown 3rd parties.

Bitcoin Fact: the price of bitcoin will not be greater than $70k for more than 25 consecutive days at any point in the rest of recorded human history.

Never underestimate stupid people in large groups.

Seriously though, this thread is hilarious, particularly the first page:

Why would it implode?  Why are you spreading FUD?  Did you get short squeezed?
do i hear a n00b crying?
