I think darkcoin has the most advanced and promising approach so far.

So it looks like so far out of about 100 votes, 70% are for Darkcoin.
Darkcoin has active development and commitment. We will have to wait and see if the privacy is good, as with most technologies it's bound to be picked apart.
Anoncoin is supposedly implementing Zerocoin technology, but when I first saw Anoncoin advertised it was like a joke, another scamcoin. I would be very wary of trusting the developers (anonymous people) to actually implement Zerocoin and not just use the news of Zerocoin to pump it up and then dump.
Bytecoin with CryptoNote, distribution seems unfair, I'm not familiar with the CryptoNote protocol.
My vote still goes to Darkcoin because we actually know it's in development. It's always good to have more than one horse in the race though, and the free market loves competition. One way or another we'll probably get a secure private currency in the next year or two.

The Anoncoin's team leader is as anonymous as we can see his face (a photo with him at twiiter). And look at Anoncoin's twiiter, the github updates are way more frequent, and they aren't a version bump, node add or tray icon change as some other coins do. The anoncoin will feature native I2P and zercoin soon, not a coinmixer that is easy to fool from inside and a lack of protection from outside, as we know every ISP gathering data about their users by power of law for over 5 years in UE and i don't know how much in the other federations/confederations like USA or FR.

As I see it, Anoncoin is bringing much technical innovations to play i.e i2p darknet capabilities. And now they are implementing Zerocoin protocol with their own modifications ( and that isn't easy to do, so strong dev team). And it's never the coin with the most HYPE that is useful ( darkcoin, pure hype campaign.) + ANC devs had 2 opportunities to dump when ANC hit 12$ a few months back. And they didn't at all. That says alot They are motivated and always active on github which is the right place to be active ; not on blogs and stupid PUMPING campaigns like other coins.

This actually might hinder mainstream adoption for Darkcoin.. Anoncoin is worse..

My prediction: 6 months from now darkcoin will mostly be forgotten, and then referred to as a scam. The hype is very similar to what megacoin had, and then quark. Something new and brighter will always come along and steal their fanboys.
My prediction: 6 months from now darkcoin is the only coin that actually has working user friendly anonymous transactions.

I looked into Anoncoin a bit and the dev seems to know his stuff. I wish the coin had a better name though. Something about Anoncoin just doesn't have that marketing appeal.

The one common theme with all the candidates is their names are too closely tied to technical development and are not family friendly enough.
The one that wins might just be the one that does what it says on the packaging, but with a bland and boring name that is an acceptable face to the public.
The most popular wall paint is magnolia. maybe magnolia coin? "So bland and boring, just like your life in suburbia."
I voted Darkcoin.

My prediction: 6 months from now darkcoin is the only coin that actually has working user friendly anonymous transactions. 1. Darksend is for short time, therefore it wasn't anonymous at all. 2. Darksend is at testnet, therefore it isn't still anonymous.
