Bitcoin definitely accelerating all these other companies to think and start their own currency endeavors,

Amazon, facebook; otherwise they'll lose a potential market.

But they have a big competitor in bitcoin

I don't think they will any time soon. It will have to gain more traction and the prices will need to rise up again and then stabilize. It will seem to happen when a lot of other major players accept it and the price could reach $1,000 very soon.

If facebook starts accepting Bitcoins, it will be a good step towards the recognition of crypto currency worldwide

Ive heard rumors about Facebookcoin and Amazoncoin. I even saw a job offer for Amazoncoin. They may well be making farmville coin. It would not be truly global, the Chinese ban Facebook and Russians/eastern europe uses VKontakte (its like facebook with infinite free music and different regulation).

News: China bans Farmvillecoin again  Cheesy
