It seems to me that PTS should have been on the list from the start and should not even be on this poll.

Thanks for all the votes and comments, everyone!  At the moment, we're leaning towards adding Quark, as it does seem to be the most established and relatively stable.  Though, our opinion could still be swayed!

Whole market is unstable right now.

Blackcoin just dropped below Quark in terms of market cap. Quark has been shooting up last couple days, but I still think it will become stable at some point.

PTS sort of tracks expectations of how well the entire bitshares ecosystem is doing so I think it has more information about the altcoin market as a whole

Quark has been around quite a while, is established, and is relatively well distributed, meaning hopefully more stable. I think its the better choice for an index than blackcoin, although I am admittedly biased.

Quite surprised quark is doing this well. Obviously ignore BC until your next re-shuffle.
XCP and PTS are the only two even worth considering, and again I think PTS is better to include in an index.

Myriadcoin.

The first multi-PoW coin. The things people dream about.

Myriadcoin - the first multi-PoW blockchain! (Mine with SHA256 [ASICs], Scrypt [GPU/ASICs], Skein [GPUs], Groestl [GPUs], OR Qubit [CPUs/GPUs]).

Blackcoin has consistently been in the top 3 or 4 most traded coins in the world for the last 2 weeks. often number 3, displacing DOGE.

It is also now number 9 on coinmarketcap quite comfortably (more than double above the coin at number 10).

I therefore think your index would be enhanced if you accounted for Blackcoin.  Wink

For the purpose of having an index it's clearly Blackcoin that should be added.

Volatile or not, doesn't matter. Blackcoin is top 10 in market cap and has been top 5 in traded volume. Blackcoin is, compared to the other coins, relevant in an index since it is such a large part of the market that you're trying to index.

Quark may very well be older and more stable, but it's a third of the market cap and roughly a hundredth of the traded volume compared to blackcoin which makes it less relevant to add to the index.

If what you're trying to do is just to promote "good" coins, then don't have a poll. Just pick the one you're holding most of.

With all respect, Blackcoin hasn't been there long enough. Quark imo is more established and well market cap wise things can change so rapidly.

Personally I also believe that BlackCoin will be a major coin in mid-term perspective. However, I agree that BlackCoin's price evolution probably doesn't really represent alt coins and therefore it might not be the best choice to be added to ALTDEX right now.

But I would like to encourage the ALTDEX team to keep an eye on BlackCoin.
