I tried to use the old wallet, pos blocks are not shown up on cinnichain.info

if you didnt use a backup/virgin copy of your wallet.dat then the orphans will stay logged in your wallet.dat from the other client.  just ignore it or you can export the privkeys and import into a new wallet.dat to clean it up.

you will not lose any coins, and will be able to restake the "orphans" by leaving it open.

I just tried to export privkeys and import into a new wallet and i thought I had backed up my wallet.dat yesterday

I am a noob and it turns out it was an old backup of my wallet.dat, does this mean that any coins i sent to addresses generated after the backup are gone forever?

i'm not sure what you mean.  i was meaning the PoS orphans that stay in teh wallet.dat.  the blockchain doesnt record those, but they stay in the wallet.dat making oversized and cluttered.  you use the method above, or revert to an older wallet (that contains the same addresses) as way to clean it out.  Any coins you have sent will at the address you sent them to.

nevermind, i just deleted my wallet.dat because i thought i had it backed up and lost 15k cinni to the abyss...i feel like the turbo king of stupid right now

Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

You can retrieve your wallet.dat by using Recuva or similiar program it should recover wallet.dat

5ubv3r7,

I'd be glad to assist you as i just recovered multiple wallet from a client as early as a couple of days ago using DataRecovery tools. First time i was ever paid in Crypto, so that was fun Smiley

Even if you don't want my full assistance i could explain the procedure if you are  D.I.Y guy.

-Ant

EDIT: Please try whatever you can first before delving into deeper solutions. It'd be great to hear you got back your stuff w/ this Recuva program.

Worked for me, just export your private keys from the new wallet using the method posted a few pages back use coincontrol method also posted to get all your addresses including any hidden change addresses to make sure all keys are exported. Save all the keys in notepad move wallet.dat somewhere safe just incase. Then download old wallet exe and open it use console to import all the private keys you saved, then restart the wallet and all should be good.

Ok this is how i managed to get my PoS working again after wallet update and also get back all my missing coins that where gone from my balance...

Credits for this go to "digit" and "fox19891989" who from their posts and help i managed to solve my problems, i just took their combined info to make a nice clean guide.

Restoring a old wallet.dat backup from before the update and then using the old wallet solves it, but also leaves all the rejected PoS coins from the new wallet visible. So the following method is a better way which will tidy up your wallet and fix all problems caused with balances and will have you staking coins without a problem.

You will need to have your wallet unlocked at all times to carry out this fix

1. In NEW wallet make sure CoinControl is active (settings>options>display). Then go to send coins and click inputs in CoinControl panel, from there click on list view. Scroll through the list and right click on each address displayed there and copy the address then post it in notepad.

2. Now you have got all your addresses including the hidden change addresses time to export the private keys. Open the console still in the NEW wallet (help>debug window>console). Type into the console dumpprivkey <CinniCoinaddress>, where <CinniCoinaddress> put your address here (example: dumpprivkey JVgfbKMk9MrdwZry7X6iCTunTtdS2h1fYP). Do this for each of the addresses you got in step one, after each dump your private key for that address will be shown in the console window, copy and paste each of these keys into notepad also best place would be below each of the addresses your copied earlier so you know which key is for each address.

3. Now you have all your private keys close the NEW wallet and download the OLD vesion from http://1.cinnicoin.com/get-started/ and also the blockchain from https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=573232.msg6866461#msg6866461 . Once you have both replace the NEW wallet exe with the OLD one you just downloaded, then go to AppData\Roaming\CinniCoin move the wallet.dat file to somewhere safe just in case something goes wrong, then delete everything from the CinniCoin folder except cinnicoin.conf if you use it. Then open the blockchain file you also downloaded and copy the two files into the CinniCoin folder.

4. Once all that is done open the OLD wallet, you will have a balance of 0 and a new address (dont panic). You will now need to import the private keys that you exported earlier, once again open the console (help>debug window>console) this time you will need the command importprivkey <CinniCoinprivkey> [label] , where it shows <CinniCoinprivkey> [label] you wil need to enter the private key you exported earlier and for label you can put anything you want that address to be called (example: importprivkey SR3MP8bJDAjl1GTnQ99ZoK13rSzwT3rTomotS8eEiFfgYLE8XMz8 WALLET 1) once you press enter after typing the command you will have to wait a bit and the wallet will seem like it is not responding, just be patient and after a while the key will have finished importing. Repeat this for all the private keys you backed up earlier.

5. Once finished importing all keys close and then open the OLD wallet your balance should now be correct and all rejected stake will have gone, the wallet will continue to stake correct also after this. You will need to stay on the OLD wallet for it to continue working and staking well.

So all the updates are going to be late coming out? The wallet was late which was whatever because coin control isn't anything special. The messaging system is good and I am waiting for that but any update? I know battbott said a few ddays hopefully but the wallet was delayed when it was suppose to come out. Just everything I read is anticipations of something coming out or when it is coming out. Can we have another update list/time frame since the one that's already out is no good cause the time line is delayed. I know you devs get tired of hearing it everyday. I'm not looking for everything little thing. Just an updated ttime lineof the uupdates.
+1 if the debs keep including new features to the coin this coin will grab a bigger audience, we need to make cinni an accepted payment just as much ltc.

Sudden pick up in price on mintpal - is there some announcement imminent?

dout it.

its whales manipulting trying to start a fake rally.

Fake rally? Nothing fake about buying in a 9000 and selling at 11000 is 10 minutes.

Told you it was fake.

If you managed to jump in and make a profit +1

Those who don't want to let Cinni rise ...  are stupid, to make profit each time like 100 satochi ? common ...  that's not worth it even if you had 100K in coins

But, go ahead, just sell your coins,  and buy back in everytime, you won't get far this way.  Wait untill tomorrow , expecting  average of 20K.

Buy in low and sell at the highest point, that's what you all have to do . Not whaling, cause that won't give you more money.  i'm 30  enough experience with trading on exchanges in crypto.

You expect this and that, but why should that happen?

I mean, I love this coin, but you sound so folish and like a fanboy, hyping his/her coin like everyone esle.

When I go to the BC thread, people are screaming all over the place, there coin will rising like hell and should buy it now.

So chilidish and nooblike

I have my Cinni stash and my day trading stash.

A profit is a profit, no matter how big it is.  If you can jump in and take advantage of the big swings (like one we just had) great.  I still don't mind trading sideways for 3-6% each time.
As long as I am making money and not losing it I am happy.

The best advise I can give you as a trader, profit is a profit....

Rather make 5% profit, then 10% lose... When you wait for a breakout, you are at the wrong neighbourhood, rises takes time

What do you know about cryptos ? You only know Cinni and black ? Or maybe dark as well ? Well you just won the lottery!  Get a grip man, i think you still have a lot to learn about altcoins.

I even think you don't know when to buy in and when to sold.  Make profit is good, but not if you make  like 5% with just 1K or 100K coins LOL.

Make profit with  25% that's a start.

Trading is something you have to learn my friend.
