[slack] <Thomas Haller> Hello DMD Community, the development on the v4 upgrade is doing well. For the first time we have done a protocol update. The new client supports both protocols Hbbft-v1 and Hbbft-v2. This upgrade targets a lot of issues, and in the upcoming week we will see the impact on stability and performance. Thanks to the whole Team and the Node Operators 🚀 💎

Interesting...👏.. Day by day, we are moving closer to the full launching of V4.
We can't wait to experience the unique speed and performance of the network.

DMD progress is great, but does anyone know how DMD.v4 tps will compare to that of other platforms?

[slack] <shveicar> <Digital_Demon> Anyone who has read the
https://bit.diamonds/DMD_WP.pdf will be able to see the difference and understand the differences.

Shveicar; I HAVE read the WP. In fact, I was one of the volunteer proofreaders! My question was specifically on the subject of TPS (transactions per second). I understand perfectly well about instant finality (transaction speed), non-forking, low cost transactions and all the rest of it, but I could not recall a figure being quoted in the WP for TPS. The reason that I asked was because I have come across some articles claiming that other platforms (Hathor, Bitgert) can achieve 100,000 TPS. I was simply wondering how DMD.V4 would compare with this. On re-reading the WP I see a figure of 400 TPS, which seems inadequate. Have I misunderstood? Or have I missed something?

[slack] <shveicar> <Digital_Demon> I would not trust flow statements from other projects (these may be unsubstantiated statements for the sake of PR). The best way to check is a real network. In the end, DMD is not going to get the title of the network with the highest bandwidth among all, but for most of the projects, the V4 network bandwidth is set with a large margin. And let me remind you that bitcoin still has about 7 transactions per second, but this does not prevent it from being attractive to investors (with all its other disadvantages) (edited)

Thank you Shveicar, good answer! 👍

400 tx/sec are more transactions per second then DMD v3 have average transactions per day!
i think most penis size compare tx/s numbers that flow around are not of relevance
DMDv4 will be able process like 20-50 times more then the actual ethereum network and that without raising transaction costs (even complex smart contract interactions on our network will be just a few cents and not crazy $ ammounts)
and we will add some industry first features on top
we never set the claim to be the one chain that can replace all others
we claim just that we will be for some projects the better platform to run on top
projects that take advantage of what make dmd special
and/or projects that see a true decentral no premine no ico long term existing and maintained network and community as a major reason to choose their prefered blockchain platform
