Cloudminers down?! I hope my coins are ok Sad

Yup its down. But the shares and your balance should be safe. That pool had the highest scrypt hashrate so maybe that was the cause of crash. That's why hashrates should be spread across all pools

Thanks for the reassurance, their fluttercoin pool is down as well. How does the pool stop a potential attack? I have my savings on there, I was literally in the process of manual payout as it went down.  Cry

They might have been DDOS'd or probably their server went down for some time. Cloudminers are professionals, they should get it back up soon.

Thanks for the help, so what are the upcoming plans for saffron? I always felt the future of cryptocurrency was similar to myriad's multi-algo approach which allowed independent difficulties but 5 was a tad much. Saffroncoin is great because as the scrypt asics and terrahashing sha miners will enjoy one anothers company all the while gpu's and cpu's can share a more reasonable difficulty level on groestl (and summer is coming so I love the decreased power and heat). And on top of that, the potential for a 51% is attack is minimal due to the mixed algos. Everyone is happy!

This coin will definitely do well, just keep working towards merchant adoption and spreading the word!

Sure thanks mate Smiley Even i felt that MYR's 5 was a bit too much and unnecessary but MYR too is a great coin which first started this unique concept. Comparing the workers, i feel the asics love this much more, probably because Scrypt has a lot more competiton.

Bounty for SFR Groestl Pool creation!

Anyone??
In summer, Groestl is the best option to be cost effective. Solomining with Groestl has become quite difficult now so it would be great if someone would create a pool for Groestl GPU/CPU miners!

Yes working on a wallet update. Windows does a very bad job at caching. Somehow it wasn't able to remove that cache.

Some may argue why the superblock range is very tight and quite difficult to obtain, but the max coins are just 111 million, so the superblock has to be rare.

How do you get to the total of 111 million coins? 72 initial reward, block halving every 524160, means max 75.5 million; add in some bonus coins for the first two days, and random superblocks, still doesn't get more than 78 million?

EDIT: plus, you should update the first post to reflect the pre-mine

Yes, after around 6 years, including bonus rewards and frequency of superblocks, number of coins would be around 82million. But, in mathematics, you keep dividing a number but you will never reach zero. Block halving will stop after about 6 years. Minimum block reward will be 0.017 after that. So, eventually all 111 million coins will be mined, but would take a very long time.

This is done because, i predict ASICS will take over completely in the future. Like how CPU mining became useless now, GPU mining may become useless in the years to come. With this coin supporting ASICS also, it is necessary for it to not get over soon. Who knows how much hashing power we could get in about 8 years time? It could be unimaginable and low block rewards wouldn't matter.
We wanted the coin to be future proof and run for a long time keeping all these points in mind. It could also increase the value of the coin in the later years. On an average it could take around 25 years to mine all the coins. It wouldn't be too difficult to find the block then since the difficulty will retarget every block.
Also, bitcoin is predicted to reach its 21 million mark in 2040. That's 30 years since launch.

Ok, didn't realise you were talking about 2000 years into the future! So basically it won't go above about 84 million in the next 100 years?

(Not sure how you get to 82 million at 6 years, not 77-78 million, but never mind)

This new system could be interesting but how the three algorhythms are mixed, they give same amount like 1/3 ; 1/3 ; 1/3 or they have differents proportionnality in accordance of the total hasrate of each algo ?
