Hi guys, im new to NXT currency, and some of you seem to be here since nxt beginning, i’m holding some nxt now (not much), and recently i stumbled upon some article talking saying that nxt developers will kill it after this final ico round and that they have developed a new platform to replace nxt, and that nxt price will be down to the ground right after the ico is finished. Whether these info are accurate or not, what do you think the best action to take now,hodl nxt? sell it? or move it to nxt wallet to have 0.5 ignis for every 1 nxt?, or long-store nxt as it will have great value next year may be?, looking for ur advice, knowing that i have small quantity of nxt and it will not have any effect on its price whether i sell or keep them. And i also boight it cheap (about 1100 satoshi).  |

Is NXT a ERC20 TOKEN ? NXT has existed since 2013, before Ethereum even started their initial crowdsale. https://nxtplatform.orgNext is a very "old" coin in the cryptospace. A lot of coin are coming are already gone, but NXT is here to stay. The future is bright for holders. |

I remember the time when ppl are comparing these two. Although ETH is with a much higher marketcap now, Next(Ardor) has great potential too. |

after ARDOR and IGnis being realeased, is NXT team still developing this NXT ?
because i see there is no improvement in NXT project after the team launch Ardor and Ignis until now

Yes, they will support it for one year more, at least. They have announced to convert it into an easy to use ICO platform that would compete with Ethereum's ERC20 mechanism (it IS already an ICO platform, but a bit complicated to use). NXT is one of the oldest and great community, price is getting very low now and i decide to invest for the long term!
Ardor price is doing well instead ... and NXT price is now approximately at the value of 1/4 of an ARDR I predicted some weeks ago  I for now have almost only ARDR and IGNIS (JLRIDA) and will look to get some Ignis more before the snapshot in December |

Or would it be independent blockchains, i.e. NXT clones? In this regard, isn't it an advantage for Ethereum that it is so big that projects choosing it to run their tokens on can be sure it will still exist in 2 years from now while NXT is somewhat declining?! Just would like to hear your opinion on it. |

Do we have to keep the nxt in the wallet to get ignes coin? thanks for the info look quite interesting to me At Nxt block 1630000, expected on Christmas day, a snapshot will get for each account 1) The NXT balance, and will return 0.5 IGNIS / 1 NXT 2) The JLRDA coin balance (the token used in the ICO sale from Jelurida), and will return 1 IGNIS / 1 JLRDA 3) The ARDR asset balance, and will return 1 main chain Ardor token / 1 ARDR All the supply will be distributed like this, so all the accounts with NXT will get IGNIS. What is important here is that you have the passphrase for the account where your NXT/JLRDA/ARDR are, because the same passphrase will unlock the account in Ardor main net where the new coins have been placed. In principle everyone should have the passphrase for their Nxt accounts. One exception might be users of the myNXT web wallet, that in order to have the passphrase for the account they operate with myNXT they need to download a wallet backup. Since the myNXT web wallet closes at the end of 2017, all myNXT users who haven't downloaded a copy of their wallet should do it ASAP.
