Staff, please sticky this if you can. The amount of "I've been banned/My friend has been banned" threads are getting ridiculous.

First up, if you were banned, there is always a good reason for it. Whether you're aware of it or not, you've broken some kind of rule, and I will state right now that if you are permanently banned your chance of being unbanned is slim. If you're reading this and you haven't been banned, I'd like to remind you that reading stickies is a must to lower your chances of being banned. If you've been temp-banned, use your time off the forums as a way to reflect. Ban evasion so you can complain about your ban will probably get your ban extended, and your alternate account banned.

Secondly, if you have been banned, PMing members, staff, or global moderators probably isn't going to help, and is probably actually going to decrease your chance of being unbanned. You should have received an email for appealing your ban, and that's your best shot. The second best shot is to PM theymos, the forum admin, but that is a last resort and excessive PMs are likely to decrease your chance of being unbanned.

Thirdly, don't blame the forums because you broke it's rules. Your freedom of speech is not being violated. Freedom of speech means the government can't arrest you for what you say, not that a forum can't ban you because you're breaking it's rules. Spam is spam, and will get you banned because you're spamming, not because the staff enjoy censorship.

Finally, don't make threads in here about your ban if you can avoid it. These annoy everyone including the staff, and as mentioned before, are probably going to decrease your chance of getting unbanned.
