According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

Was yes, but it turns out that the community is a lot stronger and has taken over the project. Hopefully more trusted devs want to join the team.

What happened with SC? Someone wanna fill me in?

Short explanation was given some posts back.

Dev could not fix the issues with the coin and decided to dump the premine - therefor pretty much killed the coin.
I was tempted to buy this at one point, since it showed some innovation. Happy that i decided not to touch it because all the hard forks and the source code looked fishy to me.

Wow, so instead of asking for help and fixing the problem, he ruined, what looks to me like,  a lot of good work. It is sad really. I am glad I just mined the shizznit out of it and sold when the price was near its highest..

Fixed win Wallet.

As requested - Working 1.0.9.2 win32 wallet

Win32 QT download 1.0.9.2

fixes:

1.missing dlls erorr
2.hard crash on start fix

* does not fix the more serious issues

I understand there are new dev/devs working on a new client - this is just a temporary working 1.0.9.2 client with the above fixes built from:
https://github.com/shnurf/silkcoin

NOTE: This is only for anyone who experienced the crashes or missing dlls error, if your client runs fine stick with it!

I cannot provide support for this bin, and DYOD before using! but hope this helps some out there.

Thanks

Don't forget everyone. This is the kid behind the coinmarket.co IPO scam, the nimmus IPO scam, Silkcoin and multiple other scam coins. We need to report him to his local police there as well as file an international fraud case with the FBI and report him to the SEC.

He attends Northwood Boy School, call and ask to speak to the headmaster and tell him there is a criminal at his school, the number is +27 31 563 6501

Shimal Harichurn
Durban Area, South Africa and is currently attending Northwood High School or Durban High School.
Address: 17 Shifa Road Durban XX 4051 ZA
Phone: +27.733383121

He attends Northwood Boy School, call and ask to speak to the headmaster and tell him there is a criminal at his school, the number is +27 31 563 6501

At the very least we can get him in deep selling for selling illegal ipo's he's under the impression that since he sold them for BTC that he did nothing illegal. i guess he didn't hear of the recent arrests after the SEC and FBI investigations of people selling IPO's for bitcoins.  And look at what this little shit writes back to me. let's send this motherfucker to prison.

Hi guys, just for stay tuned. I didn't follow all the past of this coin, what I m seeing now is a very good community. Is it possible to buy some silkcoin or are you going to delete it and to make another coin? I m asking because you are looking for another name. If I buy now, could I lost my money?
