You need to come close to our gallery near the "Blockchain.info" box and press the button

You will find buttons to play/pause/reset and return to the Embassy on the left

Feel free to walk around our guide there are wonderful stars flying around (well .. not stars .. I know some kind of meteorites and other space objects ) come and see this on your own!

Because Bitcoin Online Embassy is developed with Unity3D engine.

So you need Unity Web Player if you want to visit

In the future - when Unity5 will be released Embassy will be also build with webGL! So ... no more web player will be needed.
We must just wait for Unity5.

I will tell you a story - I was working on this guide for a quite a long time - from about a two weeks, and last for 2 days I was working literally NON-STOP with 4 hours of sleep every day and few hours to buy and make some food :] ...

Maybe it looks simple so I will tell you a developer/designer story:

At first guide was ready few days ago, it was working and MAYBE even it was better ... but ...
A weight of Embassy turn from ~5MB into ~40MB .... and it was JUST one simple guide ... where will be the space for other guides and all stuff, models, etc ?? ... Embassy need to load/open ~as fast as possible. ~40MB! HUGE for people with limited offers or  slower connection ... drama...

So ... I asked my self - how to make it and don't change a weight of a file as much ...

I started do redesign everything ... EVERYTHING.... instead of Hi-Quality movie clips (which I DID compressed before AS much AS was possible to make it VISIBLE (HQ) for a visitor) I decided to use "pictures" ...

And ... this was a beginning ...
I know it looks simple ...
I know

Now imagine:

- "Text - for a guide" ...  I did my best - can change some mistakes if someone will spot some x)
- ~40 Screenshots - each one edited. Let say this is easy, just take a time.
- ALL of the "Screens" are animated so ... while the text is scrolling, everything must be just "at the right time".
-Well... thanks to Unity3D and "Animation" tool - which is very, very powerful, I was able to do this   in well ... a day or some...
-Then ... Skybox .. which some can say isn't very high quality, but it all depends ... on how much MB you want to give for just a skybox ... so I did my best and add some FXs so you can feel like you are in the space! Look at all those flying "meteorites" and other space objects! and not only look down ... from where the text is scrolling Imagine this with Oculus Rift (I need to do something with this head tracking - I will work on it, I cannot make even a test as I don't own Oculus But will do something in the nearest future with  Headtracking for Embassy Rifters )
-And some simple scripting to make those PLAY/PAUSE/RESET/EMBASSY buttons ... but literally ... ~100 #lines together.

During that a lot of test runs some simple changes  and here we go

It looks simple
I hope it will be a good guide for every one who want to understand in 411 seconds how to use blockchain.info. (basics )

What's news:

-News board script - turn the pages on your own now we just need to upload 1 news file and Embassy will do the rest
-No bumping while walking between floor tiles Some say it was not nice

For our 1st guide:
-New buttons! Speed ++/Speed --/Rewind   so you will be able to set up your own speed some of us read faster, some slower so you can set your own speed.

Update: -Well.. I add some few extra kilobytes ... but is was worth it as a skybox that I put into the guide was ... to low res .. This one - the new one is much.. much better

Yes!  In the future it will be MMO project. But to create an MMO  in the Unity I need to figure out few problems - like we need a dedicated server :-) and good scripting to make it works just fine with no bugs and well ... security must be improved as well as people will be able to create their own accounts and earn some EmbassyTokens :-)  so answer is yes-it will be MMO - but I can't say when.  In the future :-)

If you like this project now - in the future you will love it As it will be only better from now every new update is adding something interesting to the Embassy.

And you told something very important - that "this could be a really useful tool for BTC education" and that's the point! That is goal number 1 on the Embassy's goal list!

Everyday I see people posting their questions about Bitcoin. Online Embassy will provide answers to all of the most important questions for bitcoiners!

Why to spend hours on searching and reading informations about BTC, when you can enter to the Bitcoin Online Embassy and in our nice 3D environment learn about most important basics and not only - like for example you can test run new ATMs on your own even when there is no any BTC ATM in your city or you are thinking of buying it .. you can check how it works in the virtual world

Well ... Embassy will be only growing. Many ideas are going to be implemented. This will be the best Bitcoin Online Embassy ever! And for sure - FIRST one!

I've been corresponding with roslin and I believe the intention is to keep the focus on being more of a resource for Bitcoin newbies than becoming a money making machine, at least for now. I've made some suggestions as to how this project might support itself and roslin has been very receptive but things are still very malleable. In any case, there's nothing stopping users from conducting business within the environment and displaying their own BTC addresses generated elsewhere.
