Look at one of my bitcoin addresses found in my signature to find out. I gamble very small amounts. I buy things, donate, tip, and trade with friends in bitcoin. Between all my wallets I probably have upwards of 1k transactions this year!

Interesting. Most of the wallets I have come across have just a couple of transactions. I personally don't know anybody that spends their bitcoins for anything other than trading and hodling. I would like to spend some bitcoins in the future, but waiting for that big win on the exchanges first!

I've used my bitcoin to pay for a burger combo at a downtown burger place. Besides that, I'm just holding on to it for the future. Right now it is far too low in price for me to justify spending it.
Their is a burger joint that accepts Bitcoin that would totally be worth it and I agree with you for me the price is to low to what I believe the price will become for me to justify unnecessary expenses using it for now. It's called Vera's Burger Shack, it's in downtown Vancouver on Main Street. It was a few months back, not sure if they still accept it, can't see why the wouldn't though. Damn good burgers I might add! From their facebook page, post was from December 23rd 2013. The Vera's Burger Shack on Main Street has begun accepting Bitcoin using the Bitcoin Cooperative's open source POS system. It is the first venue on Main Street to accept Bitcoin, and the first of its kind. The higher-ups at corporate are watching to see how much publicity and business their decision brings, and if all goes according to plan, soon Canada will have the first burger chain to accept Bitcoin! Waves has yet to fully accept Bitcoin at all locations, so it could become the first franchise, period.
With that in mind, we're going to have our first Meet Up at Vera's Burger Shack! Here we can enjoy the kind of food North Americans are known for: fattening and delicious burgers, fries, poutine, fried foods of all kinds, and beer to go with it! They will do pints for $4.25 and burger-pint combos for $10 (or equivalent BTC). This event will also be posted to Facebook, but you must RSVP on Meet Up to be guaranteed a seat. Otherwise, you will have to stand or get take-out. Please see this event on Meet Up at http://www.meetup.com/bitcoinvan/events/155513002/I've used my bitcoin to pay for a burger combo at a downtown burger place. Unless of course you purchase BTC same day and then spend it for the sake of spending BTC. So you wouldn't really be affected by any volatility, which in theory wouldn't mean you're losing any money in the 'exchange'. I've never really thought about it that way. Not sure why, totally makes sense. I will have to buy more things that I need with bitcoins if the option is there.

I would love to use it at a fast food restaurant but don't have any near me that accept it. I will most likely have to use it by the summer though to purchase airline tickets through CheapAir! Hopefully the price will be up by then to get more value for my BTC!

Hopefully the price will be up by then to get more value for my BTC! I went on a roadtrip to San Fran last week and on the way down I used it to buy breakfast at Ada's Technical Books in Seattle and a Vegan food shack in Portland called papagees. Of course, once you are in San Fran there are quite a few places (not as many as you would think, though). I get a kick out of using them at restaurants and stuff. Novelty, sure, but its fun .

I'm still trying to get more bitcoins, but I occasionally spend some. Then I buy more to replenish what I spent.

Me too. I place a coinbase order for the same amount before I use any.

Only one restaurant in my entire city accepts Bitcoin and it is really far from me. Dubai has such promise for Bitcoin , when you include the plan for free public wifi by 2020.
I primarily spend my Bitcoin on online goods , mainly games and gift cards. No physical goods or fiat exchanges yet
|
No longer active on bitcointalk, however, you can still reach me via PMs if needed.

I will be eating my first bit coin meal in a few weeks when I go to Cleveland. It should be a fun trip as they apparently have an all bit coin street.

There are not many stores where we can shop with Bitcoins directly. Some online retailers such as crypto-thrift are there, but they don't have the variety. Also, retailers like Overstock are more expensive when compared to others like Amazon and Ebay. A second option is to buy gift cards using Bitcoins and to shop through them. But I don't want to use a third party.

The way to support Bitcoin is to buy stuff with it and keep the economy flowing I go out of my way to buy from places that accept Bitcoin, both online and in real life.
