Hi, I would like to do for Darkcoin [DRK], originally called XCoin, the same as I did for Bitcoin and Litecoin, I realize that astrology is an anathema to some so please skip this thread if you disapprove of mystic mumbo jumbo - as the original threads show though it is of sufficient interest to some to warrant a look at from this perspective if only out of curiosity. See futher down the OP for a higher res chart added now.The date and time of the working launch was 11 PM EST on the 18th of January 2014 (I think that made it 9 PM local time) which had a few hiccups so a look at the launch chart of a few hours earlier which got stuck may also be of interest, the place is Phoenix, Arizona where Evan Duffield the creator of Darkcoin lives and works. That linked article is a good intro, at this time I would recommend mintpal as an Exchange. The Earth ones being mostly Cardinal, good for energetic start-ups and the Water ones mainly Fixed and Mutable to help with adjustment, adoption, innovation, stability, etc. For more on these & other aspects see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Astrological_aspectDarkcoin like Bitcoin is a Capricorn, so plenty of ambition and long term plans there. I'll post more interpretations later, with edits to add to this OP:Re: the original XCoin name; in the chart there's a powerful Cardinal Grand Cross of Mars, Jupiter, Uranus, Pluto & Venus. Interesting.... but nobody understands the lingo. Can you summarize in plain English, without the use of words like squares, trines, oppositions, planet names, retrogrades, elements, cardinal, etc?

Sorry I don't have the time or inclination for that, those who are in to astrology which are surprisingly many as can be seen from my other threads may care to do this for you, some of them know far more about the subject than me I'm sure, also all the info you need is online anyway if you're interested in looking in to the field further - I posted a link originally which answers the most basic questions that you brought up, the Wiki and then you can follow up with Google etc, to start an explanation of astrology terms from scratch would be a full time course and you can find these easily online and in books etc, best of luck.

Darkcoin's Horoscope for week of May 22, 2014 - The same as Bitcoin's. "Kludge" (pronounced klooj) is a slang word that refers to a clumsy but effective fix for an engineering problem. It's a cobbled-together solution that works fine, at least temporarily, even though it is inelegant or seems farfetched. Let's use this concept in a metaphorical way to apply to you. I'm guessing that you will be a kludge master in the coming days. You will be skilled at making the best of mediocre situations. You may have surprising success at doing things that don't come naturally, and I bet you will find unexpected ways to correct glitches that no one else has any idea about how to fix.

Having a quick look at the chart, let's just say if this was a person they would have lots of things to work through in life.
All those hard angles are tensions and something will have to give eventually. But sometimes they are actually good. e.g. Jupiter opposite Pluto can charge pluto up, not like Mars mind you, but with Benevolence, only like Jupiter can. Square to Jupiter and Pluto (and a little bit weakly) is Mars and Uranus. This 4 planet configuration is known as a Grand Cross. It is a doozy. (Venus is somewhat in there as well, conjunct Pluto - that adds some softness.) A strong 5th house in a person often would be a very artsy cat, but Pluto brings power and Venus just magnifies the creative/arts aspect. Just have to apply this to a crypto!
Mars is in the 2nd house, often quite connected to money and it has some very difficult aspects as noted above. Not sure but I would say rough times are ahead, but the same can be said for all the cryptos as far as I'm concerned (astrologically). Interestingly Mars square Pluto is often connected to a tense sexual nature (quite charged but difficult to express.) Perhaps, and rightfully so, DRK will find a niche in porn, after all, it is anonymous.
Saturn in Scorpio in the 3rd house would mean there are some lessons regarding communication, information, etc. But that Scorpio energy can be dark, very taboo, sexual, etc. But, DRK can be quite solid regarding what it does, nice placement.
Pluto, Venus and the Sun in its 5th house would come across as a VERY powerful (albeit egotistical) individual. One that flaunts itself. Not someone you would want to cross with Pluto there imo.
It is just a super explosive chart. Understand, astrologers all over are talking about the time we live in as revolutionary and full of change. So anyone born during this time, or any event happening e.g. Darkcoin, shares in this. (As do other alts created at this time, so we (I) will have to take a much closer look when I have time.)
I actually like the coin, just a rocky road ahead imo.
Thanks for the post Otoh, IAS

For those interested in astrology in the UKAstrology Workshop at The Atlantis Bookshop The Hero's Journey - Exploring The Sun in the Astrological ChartThe Atlantis Bookshop Saturday 31st May 11am - 5pm Are very pleased to welcome Cat Cox, astrologer, back to The Atlantis Bookshop for another fascinating workshop. As we approach the Summer Solstice and the height of the Sun's power in the cycle of the seasons we will spend the day exploring the symbolism and meaning of the Sun in astrology and in the birthchart. The Sun in the birthchart symbolises our life purpose and the call to live life fully. We find this pattern expressed in the myth of the hero and his quest. Our unique heroic journey is represented by the element and sign of the Sun in our chart together with his house and major aspects. In this workshop we will explore the Sun in the chart through astrology and myth, experiential work and looking at participants' own charts to explore the meaning of this fundamental symbol and our own quest. The fee for this workshop is only £45. To reserve your place, please contact Bali at The Atlantis Bookshop directly on either 020 7405 2120 or atlantis@thatlantisbookshop.com... I hope to attend, Otoh ...

https://www.mintpal.com/market/DRK/BTC# <--- 2014 05 23 On fire atmhttp://www.coindesk.com/darkcoin-price-turmoil-network-issues-emergency-fork <--- 2014 05 28https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=107946;sa=showPosts <--- Latest developments from EvanI find these discussions about anonymous vs transparent blockchains a bit superfluous.
Authorities aren't going to give 2 flying sods whether a particular blockchain is anonymous or not. They're not going to "love one and ban another". As soon as one is untraceable they all will be as far as regulations are concerned. There are going to be millions of "cryptos" out there in a few years of every conceivable singing and dancing technical description.
Anonymity is important in any financial system to protect commercial interests and competitiveness. Nothing to do with criminality. How would everybody feel if all their bank statements were available down at the public library ? Or if I was a clothing retailer and could check up on all my competitors cash sales movements ?
But threat to the mainstream financial system is nothing to do with transaction anonymity (although that does make it commercially attractive). It's the fact that cryptocurrencies are unlevered BASE MONEY.
Base money has been kept out of the hands of the public since the days of before the Federal Reserve, because the general public having access to base money of any type or value basically amounts a run on the banking system. Base money is a definition. It doesn't imply value - the market gives it value - it implies that it's the end of the line in a chain of trust managed by counter parties (in this case, central and commercial banks).
The anonymity thing is a total distraction as far as regulations go. If cryptocurrencies ever gain a substantial foothold in the mainstream economy they will melt the debt based banking sector like lava to a waxwork. It's just simple arithmetic because of the massive leverage that has built up over base money during the last 50 years. Why do you think the Chinese are so desperately trying to plug the holes in their system ? They've not been able to touch cryptos - they have had to do it by regulating fiat. But if people actually start using cryptos for goods and services then they're screwed because you can't stop them passing strings of letters and numbers around or block every single Port 8333 on every PC in the world.
Regulators are basically clueless about cryptocurrencies and will probably never have a chance to catch up with them before it's too late. You only have to watch those videos on the New York hearing to see that.
The idea that they "like" cryptos because the blockchain's transparent is ridiculous. All you have to do to launder money is to pass it through an exchange and maybe through another crypto and back.
Darkcoin is getting valuable because it has the ONE thing that cryptos are missing which the fiat system does have - commercial privacy. That's why it's out-growing everything and IMO will probably end up as the first alt ever to rival Bitcoin's valuation. I know thare's other stuff out there that can do the technology - it doesn't matter. What matters is which one the market picks and that's where DRK now has a home straight in sight.
I just wanted to remind everyone of this excellent post that's gotten buried in a 1600+ page thread. When you're having any doubts about why you are here, come back and re-read ^ this^. To me it's a reminder that we are all involved in a movement whose importance cannot be understated.

Darkcoin's (& Bitcoin's) Horoscope for Monday 2nd June 2014No one will accuse you of lacking courage or being too timid as you push rivals out of the way. You intend to make your mark. You will not take your emotional life lightly or with a laugh. Intensity is what you crave and deep passion. Though you've really got to push yourself to make new agreements with close partners where money or emotional matters are concerned. It may take a compromise all round, but it will be worth it. Warning! Bitcoin and time travel
