They should just pull the plug = shut down the pool completely, I have to go out to my remote location (which doesn't have external IP, and I couldn't be bothered to setup VPN since the computer there is a windows box) and CEX will be gone, forever. I'd rather have 24 hour blocks on slush than this crap.
Every pool at some point gets attacked. Every pool I have ever used has had an attack happen. It is how the pool responds to the attack. It is 4pm right now in China, and 8am in the UK. If they are UK based, hence the slow response. They are just waking up, maybe a little lazy. Not sure where their admins are. Right and this isn't the first time they have been attacked. This is their paycheck. They should have someone working/monitoring 24/7 and better safeguards in place. They use cloudflare or did.

This time it's different, normally your bfgminer switches to backup pool, but my miners didn't. Also antpool dropped 14 PH when CEX went down!?

Obviously, a lot of miners jumped to other pools - just look at their hashrate. But when I look at my machines, they are jumping back and forth. Well, guess I have to drive to the mine today :-(

See this is a huge problem! CEX needs to fix this issue! I have 6 hour train back and forth to the mine, same problem as you I guess (3G connection with shared IP and no way except complicated VPN to fix that)...

Yeah. I could connect to the miners from here, but actually, to change all of them remotely may take as long as it takes to go there...

Ok, so if you can't remotely access your miners DO NOT USE ghash.io.
When they are under DDOS your miners will not switch to the backup pool.

I don't have access to my miners for about a week more and almost shat myself when I checked their page. I thought they had died for some reason but noticed the drop in their overall hashrate.. By the way, any ideas when cloud mining would be up again?

this one will be back, its not 50btc We'll see. A mining pool needs to find blocks, this doesn't.

this one will be back, its not 50btc not if the miners don't go back and honestly none should. They are skimming off the top, their nmc payout is wrong as is probably the other merged mined coins. DVC hasn't paid since January. iirc maybe it's done but they need to communicate something besides burying it on their site. No mention on the ghash site about their DDOS issues but they still have their download app notice up. I've made more money off btcguild in the same time frame and that shouldn't be possible.

I've been mining in Ghash.io pool for a few weeks now, ever since I got my S3's. I have been wondering whether its a good place to mine or now and you made my suspicions clear. Ill be moving my miners to some other pool when I get back to my miners next week.

so what pool do you recommend?
btw, ghash.io has an even worse problem than I though. When slush lost connection my miners failed back to ghash.io and my bfgminer stopped working = there is something completely wrong with their stratum server. I'm pretty sure they are DDoSing themselves.
Is just said "ghash.io not replying" and "switching back to pool 0" (slush) and then bfgminer stalled...
