Isn't that image from the mining cloud?

Is Ghash/CEX going to abandon cloud mining?
Seems to be going on a year now, with no profitablility?
It seems that the old machines should be used to mine altcoins, as they are apparently not efficient enough to do BTC.
Why isnt' that an alternative by now?

The image is from our mining pool GHash.IO. Both cloud miners and individual miners were able to see their mining progress on GHash.IO dashboard.

Yes, cloud mining is paused due to unprofitability. We will resume cloud mining once it is profitable again.

Miners using SHA-256 encryption (Such as BTC) can merge mine any SHA-256 altcoin along with BTC mining. It still won't be profitable, because all altcoin prices are very low.
SHA-256 miners are unable to mine SCRYPT altcoins such as DOGE, LTC, etc because of different type of encryption.

with the fees you would spend trading, you can probably just buy an ipad and not compete..

GHash was one of the first mining pools that I used for Litecoin/Scrypt mining, and then BTC.

All cloud GHS will stay on your account. We will release a statement and a strategy of what can be done with it at a later date.
