I looked at the ghash pool stats and saw that there are sometimes blocks which were found within "a few seconds".

The pool hashrate is always around 52, 53 PH/s. However, when the block is found within "a few seconds", the hashrate drops significantly. I guess this is only a statistical issue?

Here some examples:

Hashrate pool          Duration
53.03 Ph/s                17 minutes
37.16 Ph/s                a few seconds
52.70 Ph/s                18 minutes

I do not hash with ghash.io, so maybe someone could tell me if the payout is also dropping/rising accordingly....

How about creating the first cryptonote multipool? That would get a considerable amount of users flocking to ghash.io

I am not sure I am getting fair earnings on Ghash, can someone clarify this for me please (sorry I am new to this) :

average hash speed 923gh/s (according to 1d statistic on Ghash page).

earnings:

7/8 - 0.01988 BTC
8/8 - 0.01822 BTC

I would have thought I should be pulling around 0.023 at current difficulty per day which is quite a difference.

Can someone enlighten me on this ? Why are my payouts so low ?

GHash earnings fluctuate a lot over time depending on the hashing power they use from their own mine.

They also use PPLNS method of payout, so if you are "loading your clip" (takes about 4-8 hours to load) your earnings will grow steady until you reach peak earnings potential.

As more miners come in, you share some of the pie with them and as miners leave, you collect a larger piece.

They (GHash.io) can turn on an off a bunch of PH's which also affects your earnings; no other pool has as much local hashing power.

They want to use as little of their own power as possible but still have to meet a certain quota to meet investor demands.

So when quota's low, they flip on a bunch and the like when they're ahead, they turn some off; that's why you see such dramatic power fluctuations in earnings sometimes.

Variance is even worse in summer because of the heat.

Those are just logical allegations, I don't know for sure but that's what I'd do, makes sense, use as little of my own power, pay the bills with other miner's power.

Hope this helps.

Did anyone else have an issue today with payout/balance issues on GHASH?  I had .20BTC in the account that just *poofed* into nowhere (no withdraws, no nothing!) at about 3:xx AM EST.  I submitted a ticket this AM, but haven't heard anything back...   Anyone else have issues?

Same thing happened to me, funds went missing sometime around 01:00-02:00 today.  Support ticket filed, got response saying was being escalated to supervisor for investigation.

Excellent customer service from Ghash, they folded the missing payment into today's.  So my 7/14/30 day luck is still bad, but Ghash provided a quick fix to the lost balance problem, and the numbers all check out.

Individual hashrates are calculated by the amount and frequency of shares you submit within a period of time. Some miners need significantly more time to abandon mining the previous block and mine a new block, therefore the hashrates would be low since the time given for miners to submit shares to calculate the hashrate is lower and some miners cannot submit shares on time.

Many of us have been begging for this feature on their forums for 6 months+. Seems this is something the users want but for some reason ghash WILL NOT provide.

Anyone else need this feature? I have so many old dead works its a very ugly interface now.

I contacted ghash support and requested this feature and was told to make a request on their forum and if others wanted the feature they'd implent it. A feature request has been posted on their forum here: https://support.cex.io/hc/communities/public/questions/200783977-Hide-unused-worker-button

Other Ghash users have replied to this thread that they would also like the feature.  No response from ghash since.

Voice your support for this basic pool feature here:

So you are telling me that we can not remove dead workers?  How was this not one of the first features ever added?

I know, right?

I have many emails back and forth with ghash. They always have something else to say thats more important. How hard could it be?

When I first started using ghash they would auto hide workers that had not been used in 3 or 4 days. Seems like a good enough way to do it but they removed that feature.

How about a feature that allows us to reset worker stats to zero (fresh start) or is that already there and I'm just not aware of it?  I think the site is poorly designed; disorganized and confusing.
