As a piece of advice to your community, ask your dev to verify his identity. That's the first step to gaining trust from investors. A Linkedin profile is not sufficient.

Like Satoshi did you mean?  Cheesy

Most of the coins in the top 10 were founded by anonymous developers. It will be nice to get further verification of the dev, but it's dis-ingenious of you to say it's needed as a first step to "gain trust".

I'm not afraid of the coding, I can read and understand the code and that's not where the problem is or where my worries are.
Its all the stuff that happens around it, the blaming of people, the constant abuse some people seem to get, the blatant lies that people put in, people who are to quick to judge or which don't understand half of what they're saying etc. All in all how would a coin not be affected by that? or in this case, get over that and continue on his previous coarse?

BlackCoin went through far worse. Yesterday was a walk in the park compared to that.

Surely you saw yesterday DRK plunging as XC rose spectacularly? People will invest in XC and dump DRK if they see the facts. And the facts can't be hidden forever.

It's sad that I have to use my @cinniteam twitter account (which should only be reserved for cinni stuff) to defend XC and atcsecure's credibility.  But after all this FUD I felt that it was the right thing to do.  People need to hear the truth from as many credible witnesses as possible.

Very nice thing to do, appreciate it mate

Seriously thank you so much.

Go away bad dream, luckily we didn't ask for your advice. Welcome to ignore

Guys, what Brilliantrocket suggested is not a bad idea, but a good one that would help XC's credibility.  That being said, (and I think anyone can agree with me), I would perfectly understand why the Dev may not want to go to such great lengths, and would not fault him for not doing so.  Sufficient evidence is already on the table to strongly testify to atcsecure's identity.  How he would go about proving it further would be a question to answer.  Must he submit drivers license and passport?  I don't think anyone would do that.

The community manager is named Dan... The developer is supposedly named Dan too... Coincidence?

So I was going to setup the X11Coin wallet on my linux box, I go visit the github repo and what I see? Entire repository was deleted. Can't get the source of the wallet.

https://github.com/atcsecure/X11COIN

Either dev has problems with using a DVCS or I don't know...

Hard in this environment: some normal guy can code together a coin worth 20 million in his dorm room, apartment, whatever.  Revealing yourself is too big a risk of being hurt or worse.  Coins go up and down in value pretty much randomly it seems.  The guy whose million dollars of coin-x turns into a million satoshis the next morning might well decide to take it out on the developer.  These devs are not drones hidden inside some huge company like Microsoft, they're ordinary people doing this as a hobby after work, etc. and hoping for a big payday.

Yes, we also live on two sides of the world and have a different age. There is a few people in this community who can tell you I'm not lying without having to verify my own identity.

As I holder of a moderate amount of coins I would like to know if there will be a working Linux wallet being released?

Right now I am trying to compile the qt wallet using the modified qt script pro file provided in the last thread. But I am missing a whole bunch of include files e.g.

#include <QMainWindow>
#include <QSystemTrayIcon>

They just dont seem to exist.

I am definitely a long time supporter of X11 Coin and believe we have a bright future, I have never been very rich and I invested the last of my savings ($5k) leftover from a riser cable selling business which was killed by asics. This coin will probably save me from a life of hardship so I owe a lot to it and I really like the anonymous tech that this coin will bring but right now I am really worried about having my coins kept on a Windows wallet in case I get a virus which my Anti-virus software doesn’t spot.

I would appreciate it if someone can point me in the right direction with regards to how I can successfully compile this wallet. Or am I better off just compiling the Windows one and running it on Wine? I assume mingw can run Windows apps on Linux, I am a bit of a newbie. I bought a whole new laptop to run on Linux especially to keep my precious coins.

Edited post to correct software name,

I think this entire line of questioning and quotes should be deleted, speculative fud is still fud, and annoying to read random suppositions from tin foil hatters.

Please stop this identity thing whoever asks it.
Nobody should release his identity to random people on the internet! Bitcoin developers identity is still unknown you still pay $700-$1000 for a piece of that.
If the coin will be developed in the way we expect then this identity thing will be completely useless, so stop asking for it

this is really unbelievable. It's like a load of kids in the playground 'my devs better than your dev'.

If you like the protocol and the coin, buy it. If you don't don't. That applies to all and any. Personal attacks and insults are just a stright out loss for everyone involved.

You are lucky to have cloned the source of the wallet, as it seems it's been entirely removed now and is not accessible.
