1.I agree with Mikes idea to have a separate thread to talk about price. I could say quite a lot about the price and what could be going on but I'd prefer to do it in another thread. I've worked professionally as a trader at various times since 1991 so do enjoy that sort of thing but I agree we should keep it separate. 2.I also think it would help if we had a place where we we provided clear succinct answers to the FUD (and I maen each particular accusation), as I don't think it's been clearly and succinctly dealt with, or if it has it's been lost in all the the noise.
I like those ideas, especially the second. Threads generally lose 99% of the important information due to noise. I think that trading talk would be fine if it were of a suitable standard. But yes, the average level of discussion can, as Mikemikemike says, make this start to look like some sort of cheap P&D coin. So I'm open to having a separate trading thread. Question is: how is it possible to stop people talking about trading here? Teka would need to be both omnipresent and ruthless. there are enough regulars here that we could just all start instructing people to post on the correct price thread / if they continue to post here we can just continue to politely ask them to post on the price speculation thread... and if they continue.. well then. ignore. Agreed. Obviously big price news would still be posted here but the speculation and conspiracy theories we like to talk about could move to the new thread Yeah, let's suggest this to Teka. Teka, you around? We have the trading section in the forum for this reason. Indeed. What I mean is, what steps can we take to encourage people to discuss trading there ( http://forum.xctalk.com/index.php?/forum/11-xc/) instead of here?

Start discussing trade over there If more people start commenting, others will follow.. Maybe close 1 thread for guest so they can not see what is discussed there

The forum has a barrier to entry; one has to be approved. There seems to be some issues with the process as I have applied twice and heard nothing. I've decided simply to read the forum occaisionaly. It's a duplication of effort to read two streams and I prefer the open source nature here, even though there is a lot of noise.

Yes I heard this before. But bear in mind this community is just starting and already achieved a lot in 1,5 month. This is still a ANN thread, further developments and discussions should move to xctalk. This can become a real ANN again. Only announcements about updates (marketing, development, new business). Probably you will be approved in 5m if you send Teka/pizpie a message

A note of encouragement for those who have set up an xnode and been patiently waiting for joy:
I had set up my xnode on June 10 and finally processed my first transaction last night at 7:16 pm pst. Until then I had no indication whatsoever that my xnode was functioning properly, other than a lack of error messages. I keep it on a windows machine that runs 24/7, only shutting it down to update to the new wallet versions as they came out.
There's no way for me to know how many xnodes there are, nor how many transactions are sent through the mixer, but my experience suggests that the ratio of xnodes to transactions is really high right now. I just had to wait for my turn. So if you followed the directions on the website to set up your node, I think that you're probably just waiting for your turn, too.

Ty for the reassurance. Have 2 xnodes with no luck yet yeah, I saw your posts & knew that you were in the same boat. Now that I know my network is working with the xc network I'll try setting one up on my snow leopard laptop. That should be a nice relatively low power way to run a node.

At beltway the team shoulo do up redeemable codes to give to potential xc users and investors. Code gets them some free xc.. (use some pre mine).. this basically guarantees they will redeem and require to download wallet and gets them started down the xc path..

Or some kind of exchange. Like Bitstamp, but XC only. I know he has lots he wants to accomplish but that maybe something to think about in 6 to 12 months time? Such services tend to be very lucrative for the operators too.

Well. Darkcoin's forked again. Pretty funny seeing what ATC got working in less than a month takes them over six, and yet it still doesn't work. Still #1 in the anon circle and still don't have anything to show for it
