Crypto transactions are irreversible, therefore escrow services can add trust and reliability to them. Using an escrow for Crypto also reduces your chances of being scammed by a huge factor.
yes. And also many coins are not traded on exchanges yet. escrow for IPOs are invalubale!

Let me rephrase the question. Is there any reason anybody would use escrow if the coin is already traded on an exchange? I assume that using an exchange eliminates the scam risk part, so it does not matter that it is irreversible. I know an exchange (like Mt Gox) can of course go out of business, but it seems like that risk is less than the risk of the escrow company going out of business.

This is probably a stupid question, but why does anybody need to use a cryptocurrency escrow service? Why can't the buyer and seller just make a bid and an ask on one of the exchanges (like cryptsy.com) ? I understand about escrow services in general (I have used escrow.com for dozens of domains purchases and sales), I just am unfamiliar with their use in this area.
If you want to buy a phone from sombody you can't buy it from cryptsy, you need to use escrow.

High volume transactions are way cheaper than paying depositing , trading and withdrawal fee. All of that 2 times. Many escrows will offer a flat rate for deals.

Do you escrow bitcointalk accounts?
Because it is allowed by the forum, yes.. I do escrow bitcointalk accounts, but for a 1% fee. It shouldn't be used for any scamming, stealing, or illegal purposes.

Wow man. He is fast as lightning and does his work well. Added trust on your profile. Well, now I understand why people escrow higher trust members. Anyways these +9 trust aren't given just for scamming anyone. They are given as a mark of excellence and it is proved.

Still on and open right now. Currently Acting as escrow for a couple of IPOs as well as some physical goods.

Still offering.
Shameless bump
Again. Anyone who needs to trade should always get an escrow unless they completely trust the other party. [moderator's note: consecutive posts merged]

I can only vouch for monbux and recommend his escrow service ! monbux loaned me 0.95BTC a few months ago in exchange of collateral. I recovered my collateral. He also holds a few BTC for me right now for various deals. Beside beeing a great guy, once you try his escrow service, you'll hardly trust anyone else to hold onto your money.

Current acting as escrow for 2 small trades, 2 coding jobs, and 1 signature campaign.

I'll probably be using your service soon..as it appear it's the only one which is actually free...as escrow.ms and others have now started to charge a 1% fee.

Monbux,
PM me. We need escrow for our signature campaign. Was going to escrow.ms but he is never online, that doesn't work for me. You can be our escrow partner, as long as you are more responsive than he is. Will be waiting for your message so we can talk.
