Yes, this happened to me. Fail launch it seems.

Gonna try a new blockchain, maybe on a fork.

Edit: Confirmed on a fork, slight faith in dev not doing something underhanded restored.
So what do I do to get off my fork if I am on one?
Btw, simpleminer doesn't launch for me, i'm new to this type of wallet, what do I do?

- Create a wallet
- Start wallet
- to mine type: start_mining <number of threads>

About 45 minutes after announcement there are already 181 blocks mined. Block time is 4mins so only about 12 blocks should have been mined. I understand that it takes some time for diff to retarget so lets say 25 blocks should have mined.

Nice premine with huge blocks dev Smiley

Well, not my favorite thing to explain ... because as far as I can see there's really no reason for yet another fork of a CN coin, but I'd rather people do things safely and correctly ... so to get on the new fork just delete all your blockchain/p2pstate data and re-open the daemon. It will re download the chain and you should be on the right fork.

Are you using windows? Simpleminer needs a .bat file to run it correctly, and a pool to connect to. you can mine from simplewallet solo mining unitl a pool shows up

Ok thanks!
Does it do GPU mining?
I redownloaded too.

lets face it, those coins  are practically impossible to mine unless you have a cpu farm (at least 30min after launch)

Edit: I'm good now

But now there is blue text: Block added as alternative on height 172. Fork?

lol - look at source code, we will have low diff values untill 240 block - again that is much lower than other Bytecoin forks (as i can see it has 720 blocks).

wtf are you talking about - there is no premine - that is difficulty counting until 240 blocks will be mined. And all of those blocks will be mined by community. I personally got about 10 blocks.
P.S. i found announce on cryptocointalk too - https://cryptocointalk.com/blog/69/entry-122-duck-ducknote-ann-cryptonote-based/

well when I see all the shitty X11 release with large hashrate (and exchange rate), I am pretty sure that nobody cares anymore about the quality of a coin...

I would say:

<number_of_duckmemes> * <number_of_this_video_views> * <raising_number_of_duckduckgo_searches> = <duckNote_hashrate_after_few_days>

That is mine prediction.
