Ha, I never thought about it like that but I suppose it's possible especially if Bitcoin goes even semi-mainstream. Would be pretty cool if that did happen and the money still just sat there untouched.

If each coin is 60,000$ USD he would be worth 60$bn.
If each coin goes to 200,000$ USD he would be worth 200$bn.
What would be cool rather than the money just sitting there untouched was if he took all his BTC and sent transactions of 0.00000001BTC and 1 BTC as the fee 1 million times, so the BTC went into circulation

100k per bitcoin @ 1 million bitcoins would make his stash worth ~ 100 billion dollars
LOL
Bill gates has a net worth of ~78 billion.
So if bitcoin does achieve extremely high valuations, then yeah, that would technically make him one of the richest people on the planet.
I wonder if he will ever emerge from the shadows again.

If that money remained untouched that would mean that the price would only because of that fact rise even higher.

I am not even sure that he is alive. None of his coins have seen any movement for many years now. What if Satoshi was 80-year old at the time he wrote the paper on Bitcoin? IMO, we should add his coins to the lost coins category.

It's quit surprising he never spent any relevant amount of his bitcoins.
He probably doesn't need it, but I wonder if he doesn't also wants to avoid any sort of accusations of having taking advantage of a period where almost no one was mining.
He could offer some to charity. But I guess it would be hard to see to whom the coins were sent.
Anyway, it's a striking contrast in front of almost all the promoters of alt coins.

I don't think so, even If 1 bitcoin goes to $200k. I'm sure that not in public there are person who owns over a half of a trillion dollars ($500 billion).

I personally believe Satoshi Nakamoto is the tech giants Samsung,Toshibia, Nakamichi and Motorola. I believe it was a joint secret project. Or that researches from those companies came together and did it in their free time in secret. I don't know. I just think it's too weird of a coincidence that if you take the first parts of each of those company's names you get Satoshi Nakamoto.

+1 Or some variation thereof. Although I am fairly certain he is keeping that stash in case of a crisis that may come in the future. There may come a time when this quantity is needed to save the currency. In the far distant future. -B-

I think he arguably deserves to be one of the richest, but with that sort of money comes great responsibility. Just think of the power it would bring. I actually hope he would use the money for good in some way at some point. Maybe set up some sort of charitable orginisation. He's already gave us the bitcoin technology which could change the world but maybe he could change the world again with the actual coins/wealth. Yeah. Have you also noticed that 9/11 was on 9/11? Coincidence? I think not!

I believe that you were sarcastic in your post. Most of these companies are fierce competitors and will never co-operate on anything. Anyway, the first part of the names was funny stuff.

He could easily be dead by now , i know i woulda been if i made currency , mine 1M of it and see it go to 1200$, i would surely got heart attack. Or since coins did not move, maybe he lost his wallet? There are many many possible scenarios , the one with him becoming richest man on earth i think is the less likely one .
