Instructions for mining solo:

1)Download, Install and Sync bongger-qt.exe and cgminer.exe

2)My roaming folder is: "C:\Users\Dev\AppData\Roaming\Bongger"  Go to your bongger roaming folder and edit the bongger.conf file to look like this:

rpcuser=username
rpcpassword=password
rpcallowip=localhost
rpcport=7070
port=7071
daemon=1
server=1

3)Replace username and password above with your username and password. Pick whatever you want for example:

rpcuser=bongger_worker_01
rpcpassword=Ght6757U_yu34RRzxy7

4) Create a shortcut to the bongger-qt.exe on your desktop if you don't have one yet.

5) Right click on the shortcut and select properties.

6) In the properties dialog add the -server  command to the target. In my computer it looks like this:

Target: C:\AltCoins\Bongger\bongger-qt.exe -server

7) Save the changes.

Cool Double click the shortcut to run the bongger-qt.exe

9) Once the bongger-qt.exe is up run the following command for cgminer.exe:

10)cgminer.exe -o http://localhost:7070 -O username:password --nocheck-golden --ltc-clk 300 --chips-count 6 -S //./COM3 -S //./COM1 -S //./COM7 -S //./COM8 -S //./COM9

11)Replace username and password with the values you put into the bongger.conf file.

12) The first part of the command line is standard:

cgminer.exe -o http://localhost:7070 -O username: password

The second part depends on your mining rig (in my case it is an ASIC Scrypt miner array yours is probably different:

--nocheck-golden --ltc-clk 300 --chips-count 6 -S //./COM3 -S //./COM1 -S //./COM7 -S //./COM8 -S //./COM9

**You don't need to add nodes because bongger-qt was written properly and knows how to find it's nodes with out one having to specify them.

That's it... you should be mining succesfully... if not then try getting setup with the mining pool first to make sure you have the hardware parameters correct. Then once you have that working try the solo again.

Some info for the Bonnger and Crypto Coin Communities:

All crypto currencies are taking a hit lately starting with Bitcoin. The public is temporarily losing interest but the technology is here to stay. This happens with technology that's ahead of it's time and crytpto currencies technology is a big one.  Crypto currencies have not found a foothold yet and it's a matter of a few years still. The best time to stock up on these technologies is when interest is low and prices are down. Even in it's infancy the crypto coin market has a value of over $5 Billion!!!... So buy, mine and stock up now so when the prices go back up you won't have to kick yourself. It can and usually happens overnight and once it takes off jumping in is a lot harder and much less profitable. That's my two bits but don't be discouraged be sure that you are in the right place at the right time. Specially if your in:

Well said bongger. My only fear is that when cryptos do go mainstream they will be co-opted, by banks and governments, and will no longer be decentralized.  Roll Eyes

That's always a possibility but if people don't like them they won't use them and there will always be alternatives. The point is it won't be as easy as it was in the past. That's exactly what will make the stable alternative coins valuable. Especially the ones that don't sell out. Because people will trust the decentralized currencies more than the centralized ones. The only reason crypto currencies have so much value and interest is specifically because the technology is designed around the concept of decentralization. It will be very difficult to centralize them. Any attempt to centralize them will instantly devaluate them them into nothingness.

i think bongger.com domain expired

Nope just working on the web server. We'll be back up in a few hours. Also luckily I was able to save up the $19.99 this year for the domain name registration (by eating from the dollar menu at McDonalds Grin )   so we are good for another year.  Grin

Not sure... Why do you think that is a good idea? If it makes sense I would consider it or I would consider creating a new coin to do it.
