Does anyone know why the wallet wont sync. I tried to make a transfer out of my wallet before updating to the new one now i have 1k cloakcoins floating somewhere.

I think one of the reason why mintpal or poloniex are not adding cloak on their exchange is because of the exchange anon function. This has never been done before and to their perspective, it is a big unknown. Maybe the devs are talking to them and explaining how the anon exchange function works, maybe they're waiting for this function to be tested and proven. who knows whats going on behind the scene?

I don't expect any big exchange to add cloak until the anon exchange function has been successfully implemented and tested.

They added dark and xc, both of those claim first anon coin but are yet to produce working anon function. Cloak actually could become the first truly working anon coin which is a HUGE thing. Testing starts very soon (today and tomorrow)

Drk or Xc is supposed to be decentralized anon. yeah they haven't yet successfully implemented anon function and their price now is purely on hype and market manipulation. If cloak successfully achieves anon exchange function in couple of days, we're gonna see huge increase in value.  

so far the dev have been very professional when it comes to announcements and releases. when they say they're gonna release something, they're on time with it. so I feel pretty good about the anon exchange being implemented on Friday.

Good points. How far can the price go once anon implementation is a success?

I mean, bitfinex added drk on the strength of its volume. Still, the coin is a week old. It would be nice to be on mintpal et al, but, it is a new coin. I know others have been added super quick. I don't know the criteria for addition but Im sure volume is a major one. What exchange isn't in it for the money. That's alot of trade fees they are essentially giving away to bittrex.

Coin fundamentals will win in this occasion. Just not impressed with the exchange immaturity. Cloak is not an unknown coin. That I could understand, however everyone has been talking about it.
I'm thankful in the short term, we are probably getting lower prices which is a gift for buyers right now.

for non-syncing wallets
1). CLOSE CLOAK WALLET.go to cloak folder.....ex in windows type %appdata% in start menu search bar....click on roaming....open cloak folder and place a file or create a file called cloakcoin.conf contents are something to this effect

2). Doesn't sync? CLOSE CLOAK WALLET.Copy the wallet.dat file and save it somewhere safe! This has all your coins. No need to remove the original, just copy it (This should be done for every coin you have as a safety measure). Next delete everything in the folder except wallet.dat and cloakcoin.conf. restart.
3). On right chain but coins missing? go to debug window. type repairwallet. Wait a sec. Close cloak coin and restart.
4). Relax and wait. If it has your balance but it is unconfirmed, this is called Stake. I suggest a search, but it means your coins are staking and generating interest. No need to worry about whether you have them. You do

The exchanges are really being lame by ignoring this, true colours coming out. Look at the muck they add to their books to make money. Since when have they ever been on our side?

Cloak is new. They're afraid to shoot strangers. (Sorry for the utterly vague reference, hehe)

you have to go to control panel, under folder option and click to make hidden folder and drive visible.

then go to C: drive under user/yourcomputername/appdata/roaming/cloakcoin

your wallet file is wallet.Dat. not bat

save that file to somewhere safe. that's your wallet backup
