I just finished building the new Cloakcoin forum.

http://www.cloaktalk.org/

I'll swap out the logo font as soon as I get the name of the official Cloak font. The discussion format is different from the normal 90s forum like bitcoin talk. It's alot more fluid takes a sec to get used to but its light years ahead of this format. Enjoy

I like it! Looks much cleaner than this forum.

Thanks everyone!

I think we should still keep a minimal presence here and direct everyone over to the new forums for the main cloak discussion. With 300+ pages its near impossible to help new investors find relevant information esp with all the fudsters drama on bitcointalk. I've created a bunch of categories on there if I'm missing any let me know and i'll add them.

Thank you im hoping this balance/stake issue resolves itself?

More than likely - if you staked on the wrong fork, then the repairwallet will fix you up when you're on the correct fork.
no my entire balance has moved over to the stake line

You downloaded the entire blockchain already?  The wallet is synced?
no not yet trying to get up the balls to do it. for me this is a big deal anything I know about computers is self taught what I meant was it is already that way changed overnight, the computer shut off I started wallet again and my balance was moved over to the stake line.

Here is a step by step that is hopefully clear as crystal.  Do these things.  You're on the wrong fork.  You have to delete/re-download the block chain.  There's no getting around that.  Your issue will NEVER be resolved until you are on the correct fork.  Those files are absolutely delete-able.  The only file you need to be concerned with is your wallet.  Just don't lose it.  I've been here.  The thought of losing all your coins sucks.  But trust me...if you have your wallet file, everything will be okay.  Just follow these steps!

1.  Back up your wallet.  Important!  If you don't have a backup, you'll lose your coins!  You can also take %appdata%\CloakCoin\wallet.dat and rename it for the time being, but never ever take a chance to make a backup of your wallet.

2.  Delete everything in %appdata%\CloakCoin.  This will be like you're installing the wallet for the first time.

3.  Go get the latest cloakcoin.conf from http://cloak.blockexplorer.cc/nodes/download.php  (save it to %appdata%\CloakCoin)

4.  Get the latest wallet exectuable file and dll's - Currently 1.9.6 (https://mega.co.nz/#!UVkBxRZL!vkCnV39KLPdVSuyp-AKEsr94uWvD5kEHyMHF9G379H4).  Put these where ever you like - in a folder on your desktop, wherever.

5.  Start the wallet (this will create a brand new fresh Cloak address - don't worry, we'll replace this wallet with your backup).

6.  Let it download the entire block chain.  The whole thing.  All 56 thousand + blocks.  Don't do anything until the wallet shows it is synced.  If it gets stuck, restart it.

7.  Verify you're on the correct fork - Help -> Debug Window -> Console.  Type getblockhash <blocknumber>  Choose a block to compare against.  Make sure your wallet is on the same fork as the block explorer.  If you're unsure how to do this, ask.  Do not proceed to step 8 until your wallet is synced and verified on the correct fork.

8.  Close the wallet.

9.  Replace %appdata%\CloakCoin\wallet.dat with the backup you made in step 1.

10.  Start the wallet again.

11.  Go to Help -> Debug Window -> Console and type "repairwallet" (no quotes)
thanks for taking the time to help these instructions worked I realize they are the same as the original ones to ge ton the same fork but for old guys like me without the detail im lost.

one thing though, please guys don't stop posting here. keeping this thread near the top of BCT ANN threads DOES get us a lot of visibility.

it's a necessary evil, just come here to say "hurrah cloak" etc

Pretty sure people are just lurking around waiting for an update on PoSA status.  I'm not worried though, the devs ALWAYS deliver promised features (albeit sometimes late).  Going to sleep now and going to check in the morning.  Have fun guys.

Looks like there are a few weak brittle baby hands letting go of cloak now. Price dropping and I will buy. First have to dump some shield and stealth.

Thanks Djslick! I've also updated www.cloaktalk.org so the minimum post length is "1" instead of the previous "20" setting. Try and refresh your browser and it should update.

I dont have an address yet to post as I'm waiting on the MacOSX wallet. xD Thanks though!
