When I open it, it just opens the command prompt window and closes instantly Sad
This is with every exe in the folder, they are all the same Sad
It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

You probably want to run it from a command-line, so you can give it information about what it needs to search for.

I do Bitcoin stuff.

It is not a GUI tool, running the exe will start it without arguments, so it will just show its help text and exit immediately.

What you want to do is start a command-line (start -> execute -> "cmd" or something in windows), go to the directory the program is in (using cd [dirname]), and then type "vanitygen", and see what it tells you about what arguments it accepts.

I do Bitcoin stuff.

Our family was terrorized by Homeland Security.  Read all about it here:  http://www.jmwagner.com/ and http://www.burtw.com/  Any donations to help us recover from the $300,000 in legal fees and forced donations to the Federal Asset Forfeiture slush fund are greatly appreciated!

Tip for anyone reading this, put the vanitygen. exes in your C:\Users\[username] folser so that you don't have to use the cd command every time you open command prompt Smiley

Vista/Win7 Protip: Hold down shift while right-clicking on a folder, choose "Open command window here".
