Kelsey, do you see LTC ever replacing BTC or just being second place forever? What advantages do you see with LTC?

Well some here might know but I'm helping a little ETF get through regulators, and the btc etf has a few hurdles convincing regulators mainly steaming from a few things I've mentioned which in the real investment world seems less say a tad on the dodgy side, eg anon creator, who happens to hold bags, silkroad issue and gox + other stolen (the thing just recieving stolen goods is illegal in many places).

yes ltc may not be so pure (too many here who could through similar mud at it), but to regulators it seems less dodgy.....ltc could be sold easier to wall street crowd (who as a seed funder and daytrader I am part off).

you have got it all wrong in just a few years Wall st is dead - if the paper they are using is worthless then their wealth is worthless also, (unless they are going to be bidding up and down stocks based on pieces of gold?)

if the USD ends up a local currency the only thing that matters is productive capacity.

so all the hype and bullshit will matter little at that time, and it will be little guy that worked or opened a small business or foreign capital in the form of online businesses, that will more decide these matters.

basically people are running around trying to find a dick to suck, but there are no/few dicks left, if the very shady precarious position takes a turn for the worse, it will only be foreign capital or productive capacity that will matter.

so to that end you probably should be telling us about how good the LTC team's Chinese language skills are or how many little coffee/book shops or online business accept it.

hi neighbourhood tin foil hat man welcome to the convo, credit where credits due; this is the first post I've ever read from you that's even remotely coherent...so well done on that Smiley

thanks i updated it - so have a re-read you might get something out of it  : )

I'll give you a little piece of sound logical advice, if wall street does die in a few years  Roll Eyes......hmm I think I'd be giving the gold, btc and ltc a miss and stocking up on things like rice, flour water  Wink

yeah, each time a system goes though a fundamental and evolutionary change a core of people always thinks its the end of the world, but humans tend to pull though./

I'm not from the states, spend most my time in Aus, China (which tin foil hat man seems to elude to having something against) and Europe.

how and where do i elude to having anything against China ha ha ?

you need  to change your hat its letting the brain waves though man, you need a whole tin hat upgrade, China will buy Wall St soon, with all the treasuries they are sitting on.

either that or they will just buy up the US assets wise, though proxy by Gold.

Nonsense. I was mining LTC on first days of launch. In fact my first LTC transaction was received from coblee. Despite that I beleive it's a clear scam. POW was intentionally crippled from day 1 to give certain clever individuals (insiders) a massive head start. They've always been one step ahead. GPU farms while rest on CPU, then FPGA farms and they likely sold IP for ASIC design or design themselfs to make large chunk of money. The lead devs may have been paid off to keep the broken POW, or perhaps they already have few million riding on success of LTC and simply don't want to upset the apple cart. not like either of those actions would be illegal

LTC was falsely portrayed as offering a safe haven to bitcoins inevitable centralization (falsely advertised because it was known to be an untrue statement). That's a big reason anyone messed with it in 2011.  And now its clearly centralised more than BTC ever was, despite offering absolutely new or innovative. therefore it's a leech on BTC. It has no genuine infrastructure. People talk about 5-10x price increase.lol this will take considerable fiat inflow to support the amount dumped by large farms & home miners with electricity bills to pay. it's not sustainable with a limited pool of fiat that actually finds its way into the entire cryptocash economy. catch 22 because it's not free-floating either so when BTC falls LTC gets hit too
+1 brother. This is the truth.

You want to talk "insta-mine" or "pre-mine"?

How about NXT?  All NXT were mined INSTANTLY, and GIVEN to 50 people who were determined to be INFLUENTIAL FORUM members.

NXT better not say shit about fair starts - anyone with a CPU or GPU for two years could get thousands of LTC with it.

LTC = 1.0% pre-mine

NXT = 100% pre-mine

for NXT, 50 people got all of it at once.

And if Litecoin is going to fail WTF wouldn't these shitscams have failed first?  LTC has a growing hashrate!!  Security is increasing!!

If Litecoin is dead DOGE won't be here to benefit!

You should investigate better. You can't say premined because there is no mining in NXT. NXT never promised to give everybody a chance to earn NXT with Mining/Computer Power because it's just utopia. Few people made a lot of money because of the IPO but this doesn't make the Currency itself bad. The features and advantages are there, people are just too stubborn to see this because they are just jealous that they missed the IPO.
An example why PoW is not fairer: If I had mined Litecoin/Bitcoin from the very beginning with a few thousand Kilohashes/s I would be probably rich now. If I bought mining hardware now I wouldn't barely earn the money for the hardware because of the rising difficulty and the dropping numbers of blocks. How is that fair to newcomers? It isn't at all! Do I critizise LTC/BTC for it? No, because I know you can't create a really fair currency. But you can create a good, decentralized currency. That's what we all try to do.
So please stop being jealous of the stakeholders of NXT and especially stop spreading false informations. Don't make your self ridiculous by stating that PoW would be a fair or fairer concept than PoS. It is not. If you want make money: NXT is still very cheap, so it's still a good idea to invest in NXT.

Something catastrophic would have to happen for ltc to drop out of #2.

I can't really see anything replacing it right now.  I don't think the market gives 2 shits about anonymous coins except for pimping the weekly hot ones.

The only anonymous coin I think has a shot is Monero, but who knows where it will get to.  I really hope doge survives and they can going.  They opened the crypto currently doors to many people and I sure they will continue to.

They don't take NXT or DRK.  And they won't.

LTC can buy food, groceries, furnishings, pay for your dinner date, buy guns, buy clothes, buy jewelry, gold, silver, buy 4K HDTVs, buy computers, buy miners, just about anything you can think of.

https://www.egifter.com/
https://www.egifter.com/giftcards/

Only BTC and LTC can do this.

As long as LTC has this much utility it is not going anywhere.

Maybe I will order a Sporting Store gift card and get a glock pistol, or maybe I will buy a giftcard for a steak dinner, or maybe I will buy my movie tickets, or maybe I will buy my groceries from Whole Foods, or others may like Wal-Mart, then I'll buy books and a Kindle from Amazon, then I will buy a 4K HDTV 80" from Sony.

Then I will go to one of the car dealerships that accept LTC and buy a TESLA model S.

ALL WITH LITECOIN.

ONLY WITH LITECOIN OR BITCOIN.

[sarc]So yeah its totally pointless LOL.  LTC have no point or usage obviously!!!!  ROFL. [/sarc]

eGifter also accepts Dogecoin: https://www.egifter.com/dogecoin/

Just sayin' Smiley

They do it through payment processor GoCoin, which has expressed its intent on accepting more cryptocurrencies, so it's unlikely that many shops will be exclusive to Bitcoin and Litecoin in the future, imho.

...
Litecoiners, what is the reason why Litecoin should hold the #2 spot? I honestly don't know. It doesn't seem any more special than many of the coins that trend between 500K-10 million in market cap.

Well, if they can't hold the #2 spot and 325,000,000 in market cap, what will happen to that Litecoin money? It will flood the alt coin market.

----------------

In lieu of Litecoiners not being able to produce a strong answer to this question, we put out the guesses as to who benefits from the slow (or not so slow) dieoff of Litecoin.

The winners I predict are...

Bitcoin-because its bitcoin

What an absurd argument. Litecoin, you claim, has no valid argument to remain number 2, and bitcoin has a valid argument to benefit "because it's bitcoin".

Classic argument.

More Litecoin news

https://litecointalk.org/index.php?topic=20503.msg183850;boardseen#new

Submitted a press release today about Coinographic and it seems to be getting picked up nicely.  Pretty sure more results will follow over the next few days.  Some good publicity for Litecoin and of course Coinographic Smiley I hope this press might prick the interest of people currently outside the litecoin community and drive it more into the mainstream!

Stupid LTC-lies again. Lies, lies and lies. GoCoin is going to accept NXT very soon, its already announced. Then your stupid eGifter shop will also accept NXT.

I hate LTC because the community members lie so much and are actively spreading FUD against all other coins.

Yeah, GoCoin said in their twitter NXT will be integrated within 30-60 days. eGifter uses GoCoin, so there'll be a choice of 4 coins to pay with: BTC/LTC/DOGE/NXT
