I see the Antpool has disappeared off the https://blockchain.info/pools?timespan=24hrs page. What does this indicate?

Support the two platforms essential to protecting the identities of whistleblowers. Both accept bitcoin donations.

Just asking, if 500GH/s requires 390W only, then CX750 can handle the OC'ed S3?

I have right now 2 S1´s overclocked to 200 GH/s and 2 CX750M also.

And i think that they consume 420 W each one, so if S3 requires just 390 W.... would be great if we can overclock them, we have still 360 W left.

I would like to know how much will be that Kit for upgrading S1 to S3... and more important.... will soldering be necessary?

No doubt its very much possible to run a very overclocked Antminer S3 without any issues.
The maximum as per my calculations an antminer can consume as per datasheet is approximately 550Watts.
From your CX750M at .8 power factor will occupy upto 600Watts.
But the above 550W is from wall and this 600W is after PSU so, you have more margin than said 50Watts.
If you slightly underclock you can even run 2 S3s.
So go ahead and OC when you get it.

S1 upgrade kit will only be available after 1 or 2  months as per the guy visited BitMainTech booth.
The price will depend on the exchange rate of BTC that time and the difficulty.
Since its BitMainTech we can hope it will be a fair upgrade.
Regarding Upgrade Method: Most probably it will be plug and play. They will maximum avoid such soldering things.
As per their statement the upgrade hit will be the 2 pcb boards. They said the new heat sink is compatible with S1.
So, I assume they will be supplying heat sink along with the upgrade boards.
Thus the upgrade will happen when we remove old blades and screw up the new blade, plug the cables to controller, done.
All are assumption, there may be very different from reality. Smiley

I agree with the idea of the upgrade kit .

As to whether it is too late.  If btc stays under 600 it is all a big mess.  But rallies can happen.

does anyone know how long it takes for shipments to arrive from china? and does anyone have problems with customs?

thanks!

No custom issues in the US.  Three days via UPS to the west coast.  Pretty fast.

Customs in EU/ Greece are bothering us if you escape with 3-4 proccess you are lucky
if not 15 days is the max I have experienced....asking purchase invoices and mean of payment???

Mining metals and mining virtual coins are two different things in the realm of to totally different dimensions . on has tangible physical value and the other does not . you can't sell the future of one by touting the demand for the other. I wouldn't be so quick to write off the dollar .. I hope that BTC has a successful future, but I'm not going to fall into the trap of thinking the kings new clothes are so wonderful .. There is far more risk in virtual coins then there is in real metal.

i'm not selling either.. i am holding both.
