Unfortunately the greed that controls the legacy banking system with their printed legal tender cronies will have a whole lot to say about this They will indeed have a great deal to say. But for the first time in history they can't say it while pointing a gun at the competition. And with each passing day the world will listen to them less and less. With each new financial crisis the world will get sicker and sicker of hearing their lies. With each new violent act the world will tire more and more of supporting their blood money. BTC as an investment appears to be rock solid... compared to parking your cash in a bank account which earns you no growth opportunities... why not venture into a much higher upside.... we are in a state of major infrastructure growth and a broad based public recognition... with today's price I can't think of a better time to secure coins.

Transactions in legal tender do not necessarily require any internet connection. But unlike legal tender, Bitcoin is necessarily associated with the internet. So, even maximum possible transactions in the digital currency are bound to be less than legal tender, at least in foreseeable future. However, as a medium of exchange and fund transfer, Bitcoin enjoys some distinct advantages over fiat money. Here is an article on the future of bitcoin. Would like to have community feedback on it... Being able to easily transact without an internet connection is one of the advantages of cash over BTC at the moment, IMO. It is a huge advantage of BTC to be able to make large transaction with BTC without suitcases full of cash though... People do not have suitcases of cash. Majority of the people in the world do not use internet. You do the rest. |

Making block mining too fast is not good for the network. With time no. of Tx will increase within limited time. There should be enough network propagation time for nodes to update their memory pool. If a certain Tx does not get enough broadcast due to time limitation, that may be exploited as double spending. |

In a future when Internet will be everywhere (And I Say EVERYWHERE), Bitcoin will be the largest used currency because you with a click can pay without any commission to the other company like Visa, Mastercard ecc. Anyway, Bitcoin is decentralized and not controlled from any entity.
