Other than being the first x15 you are 100% correct.
What are you talking about? Did you Bother to read his post?
> failed launch
Launch went off without hitch.

Almost every coin is a clone of some sort with "tacking something on"
> what in god name is scientific ?
It's referring to the SPH Libraries used in the hashing algorithms. To be honest, i'm not sure why its "scientific", but I've seen many X11 posts saying this line too. I guess its all computer science, but that point is moot.
> Does it provide some kind of benefit ?
Fairer launch. No rented rig or FPGA raping the coins. No KGW/DGW needed at start either that kills off a coins value from the offset. The retargetting used in this coin (albeit a direct copy of darkcoin), [un]intentionally(?) had a positive impact on its value.
> i assume the launch with no windows wallet
Windows wallet was at launch. Bitcointalk removed the link as it was hosted on file something or other. Then shadow_runner uploaded it to mega, and the OP was updated.
> don't suppose anyone was flash mining it privately
No. Theres a block explorer, and pools, and many miners who were here since launch - DUH
