Well first off I have been mining altcoins for well over a year, long before I created a BCT acct.

I just don't see the point any longer, will a new innovation that that replaces bitcoin come along someday? I don't see it happening anytime soon.

With that said, anyone else feel like altcoins are just a waste of time?

All those coins are shit. Why you dont hold drk, doge, monero, xc, anon, nxt or something like that? Then I bet you wouldn't be so disappointed about alt. Whatever all your coins from the list I have heard for the first time. Look what you are mining next time.

Glad to see you have come to your senses!  All these coins have and will end up in the same place, no matter how much the super  'dev' team adds new, newer, newest, features.
Bitcoin is the king due to the blockchain and support for this chain by a massive community.

Welcome back.

Agreed it is becoming one of those jokes that isn't even funny..  I think the scam coins hold back the few good coins from getting proper attention and developing into useful coins had they gotten the attention they deserved.  I also feel their is no coins out right now but I hope I'm wrong.

I think Bitcoin needs some healthy competition I think at this stage of Bitcoins development.  It can only be a good thing for the overall adoption generally speaking.

Damn dude that's an impressive collection...

Keep them all and open a coin museum!

Its fun to think cryptos are like artifacts, rare minerals or metals but really they are living computer programs that require constant nurturing and attention in order to survive.

I would hold onto the coins just for the novelty value though, and just hope a few of them live on through the years.

A seriously impressive collection.  I'm guessing these coins have basically no trade value?  You have thousands of those hashtokens, can you get a satoshi or two for each of them?

Lol notice the symbol for superhashtoken = SHT

I have mostly BTC and a little LTC after consolidation of the collection from almost twice the size posted. If I traded the ones that still sync
and had a decent exchange worthy of transferring coins to I might get .25 BTC for them.  Roll Eyes it's worth just holding them just in case one of them goes large in 5 years. But it's a fools game mining alts anymore!

btc rises. Alts follow. Shitcoinswill be washed away with each pricechange up and down. Good alts with good dev and good community will stay. I believe that. People want choices. There is room for up to 20 good longterm-altcoins.
The more shit is released the less new shit hurts.

Look for good community and good dev. Support coins that have been around for a while.

At this point don't even try to chase pumps and fads. Look for resistant coins like the ones i mentioned. Maybe they are not as easy to mine but that's because they have the support.

At this point we will see 9 out of 10 new coins fail. Stop supporting crap. Don't waste your hash, time and money.

We shouldn't cry for authority (moderators admins) to make things happen for us, we should take the responsibility and just stop supporting new coins for a while or at the very least stop supporting crap like OP obviously did and now cries. That hash could have been used to support good coins.

No crying... LOL I made tons of BTC playing the game. Not all shitcoins look like shitcoins at launch, especially when there is 100 TH's on them within a few hours of launch. also some DEV's lie very well and have mastered the puppet game. The pools have mastered the skim, and the exchanges have mastered the GOX. It's not worth playing anymore...    Sad

OK I kissed some frogs... LOL but overall many were traded into hundreds of BTC prior to altcoins turning into the shit we see now.
an example is STY or stories, I sold 200k for almost .5 BTC and was selling the rest off little by little till the DEV took a shit same as most.
these are my leftovers. BNS or Bonuscoin made me about 2 BTC etc etc. My point is it's not worth wading thru shit neck deep and diving down for a dime. The best altcoin days look to be behind us. feel free to play the shitcoin game, I played I made and I'm out. BTC all the way to 20k  Grin

Evolution of crypto:
BTC -> LTC -> Quark -> Microcoin (block speed overall coin transaction speed POW evolution)

PPC -> Nova -> BC (POS evolution )

ANC -> DRK -> BCN (or XMR)

Java POS brand NXT <> NEM <> Bitshares

There was a lot scam coins now and before and TOO many shit coins is coming out...

yes, some monero, DRK etc would be a good option! At least with some cryptonote coins you could merge mine to get some good results (I imagine). But it is an interesting bag you have, what will you do with them all now? Or are many of those coin stashes not worth enough to bother with? Shame somehow anyway..

nothing of worth. But if you sell them now you will bite your ass later.
I guess you will get 10 times more by the next months while bitcoin is rising.
Later they are going down again. use the hype to sell off.

You might find this interesting:

Seems to be some sentiment of things livening up rather than dying out..

It would be nice if some of them were relaunched and gained some traction, I don't think it will happen tho.
Maybe a pump so some whales can dump but as far as longevity I kinda doubt it! I have almost zero confidence in most altcoins
anymore.

Check out Credits CRD see the ANN https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=634403.0 and the video of their upcoming Wallet 2.0 version http://vimeo.com/100148381

I just don't see the point any longer, will a new innovation that that replaces bitcoin come along someday? I don't see it happening anytime soon.

I guess I should follow your lead huh?

MazaCoin just went up almost 100% in less then 24 hours.
I would like to get some buy-back orders filled, so if you have some to sell on Cryptsy prices are much higher now.

Nice! I only need it to go up another 6000% to break even!

LOL

I never lost BTC started with 0 BTC and 3 usb erupters. I have almost 3 Th now and a few hundered BTC. And 0 out of pocket.
Funny how all the armchair quarterbacks like to make fun. At least I posted my shitlist. I sold Maza and took profit long ago. And I don't
pay for electric, it's included in my HOA...  Cheesy

I completely agree with your statements! People are getting sick of new coins that are nothing more then copy/paste it's hard now to mine at the beginning, dump and then have any profit. Stay with one or more older/active coins that you like and help support them. Doing this gives you a higher chance the coin is still alive in 2015 & of higher value and it also kills off any shitcoins remaining.

bitcoin and some 20 other coins that's what I want to see in the future, maybe a few new innovative ones but stop supporting new coins which are just copy/paste with a crappy name.

Shiiiit, that's a huge bag!
All those coins are shit. Why you dont hold drk, doge, monero, xc, anon, nxt or something like that? Then I bet you wouldn't be so disappointed about alt. Whatever all your coins from the list I have heard for the first time. Look what you are mining next time.

yes, some monero, DRK etc would be a good option! At least with some cryptonote coins you could merge mine to get some good results (I imagine). But it is an interesting bag you have, what will you do with them all now? Or are many of those coin stashes not worth enough to bother with? Shame somehow anyway..

I Only mine SHA coins because I have Asic's for sha. Several laptops run my miners. No big GPU's or scrypt asic here. I wont drop coin for new scrypt
equipment as I think it's diminishing returns for a new start up. Since my equipment is paid off and my HOA covers electric it's all about wasted time
trying to figure out what DEV is a lair or what exchange is up and up. It's easier to loose money on alts now than ever before. I may mine a sha alt in the future but it will have to be awe-full impressive. That's why bitcoin is my choice, I just don't see anything, SHA especially that's worth mining...
Or buying with BTC for that matter....

I do have an Idea for a coin tho.. Cigarette coin CIG but it would need an Android wallet from the rip... so you could use it on the street.

The value could be one Cigarette. Trade a CIG for a Cigarette or vice versa. fuck the exchanges! most coins have little to zero street use, only exchange value. But I'm not a DEV so it will stay an idea unless I can find a DEV to create it or steal it... Lol

Damn, how much BTC did you invest?

None out of pocket except like 90 bucks for the erupters almost two years ago, and I took that back in BTC right away and upgraded, wash rinse repeat and after a while you have power and BTC to get more. Shitcoins made me alot of BTC a year ago, but not anymore. Going back to where I started BTC... Wink

Thanks for mining the 650 UnbreakableCoin :-)  I appreciate all and any hash we get on the coin. You've got quite a collection there, and I can only wonder how much time was spent mining all those different coins. I can't speak for the others on the list, however as the Dev of UNB, I can assure you I didn't make a scam coin by any means. I think I have proved that time and time again with Unbreakable's open door transparency ways. I don't hide :-) by any means, and MON-FRI 9am-5pm you can call UnbreakableCoin on the phone. 1-406-CALLUNB,  Our auction site was just the first of a list of ideas to create eCommerce sites. The auction site also takes like 15 other alt coins for payments and has over 10k users signed up worldwide now (in just a few short months). https://unbreakablecoinauctions.com/index.php

So, I can assure you, at least one of your mined coins is trying to make a difference for Crypto fans and holders. I don't get much time to chat on the forums, as most of my time is spent building our brand and running everything UnbreakableCoin, but I don't see many other groups taking crypto serious like we do. After creating the licensed corporation, Unbreakable Crypto Products LLC., and opening our office in Las Vegas, I started trying to partner with a charity foundation, in particular, The Make-A-Wish Foundation - which after a month, UNB was unfortunately, declined by them nationally. We were approved locally in Southern Nevada, but I went for National Make-A-Wish Partnership. Even with a disappointing setback, I learned many new things, and I will apply my newly learned skills when trying to partner with another national charity foundation. In other words you can learn a lot from something, even if it didn't work out how you wanted. Save that UNB because, I think it will make you proud in the long run.  I will try to come around the boards more often it's just difficult because I do stay busy. For instance, it's Friday, 10:44pm, and I still have work to do tonight, but I wanted to thank you personally for mining UNB and wish you luck with all your Crypto endeavors.

The difference between a scam and non scam coin. Scam coin promises the world , a non scam coin delivers the world.
Guldencoin is currently the fastest updating alt coin and September looks like it will be better then August already with it's iOS launch and merchants accepting it fast.

https://timeline.guldencoin.com
https://guldencoin.com/pay-here

Of course slot machine coins have there place and everyone buying into them trying to predict the pump and get out before the drop should only have themselves to blame. Don't cry when you lose money because you know the coins are scams. 90% of them you just have to look at the name and you can tell it has no future.
