dammit can't rent rigs to mine this QQ

yes, it's true. This algo is asic-resistant, fpga-resistant and big farms resistant Grin One can mine it with CPU or GPU, but well... mining with CPU at diff 150 wouldn't be so efficient Smiley

I can understand it's asic and fpga resistant ,but how it is big farm resistant ?

Basically:
1. There is no such a farm.
2. The big farms prefer to use FPGA rather and therefore will not be soon available.

Anyway it is not impossible in the future.

There are lot of big gpu farms. If you mine X13 or x15 coin, people with insane hash rates even it was before rig rentals sites provide rig for the new algo

@ alicea

What are your future development plan or road map for this coin?

yes but qubit is pretty much under the radar (until a coin become very successful or gains a lot of hype... once this happen every rental will be on it, and people will have to make a new algo...  Grin)

i like the combo ninja launch + new algo, is farm resistant and both gpu and botnet resistant at least for the first hours after launch

Well, the GPU farms and 300+ GPU miners exist. But they usually must pay for the electricity quite a lot so have no advance over the others/
What I was meaning using the "under radar" algo temporary kicks out FPGA farms and can bring back GPU mining profitability.
For a while...

Block time: 5 minutes (not 30 or 60 s.)
Coins per block: 50 (not hundreds)
The diff >130

What is strange?

Using the following (type of) .bat the sgminer runs but I get "share above target" errors.

GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT=100
sgminer -k qubitcoin -o <host>:<port> -u <user> -p <password>

Now when I try the the following setting, sgminer immediately closes.

GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT=100
sgminer -k qubitcoin -o <host>:<port> -u <user> -p <password> --difficulty-multiplier 256

Anyone else have this issue? I double checked that there was not an extra space or something like that.

EDIT: Nevermind, I figured it out, this is the only sgminer that works with that argument:

https://mega.co.nz/#!uAp12DYa!vhfp1wDb43mB1KCo_5ZfwXehYhBXeKcVYWbmkTB2ldg

Just was using the wrong one  Embarrassed

setx GPUMAXALLOCPERCENT=200
setx GPUUSESYNCOBJECTS=1
COLOR 0A

"C:\!Miner\sgminer_14.6 (fixed)\sgminer.exe" -k qubitcoin -o stratum+tcp://stratum.pool.mn:7801 -u xxxxx.x -p x -g 4 -w 256 -I 20 --lookup-gap 2 --thread-concurrency 8193 --shaders 2048 --difficulty-multiplier 256 --queue 0 --no-submit-stale

try this   5.6 mhs

@ alicea

What are your future development plan or road map for this coin?

Hello, thank you for giving this question.
The roadmap will be published in a few days. Now I can only tell that this coin will be one of a few payment methods in the website for investing in trees and trading them, that should be launched in July/August.

Could you write something more about that?

I am working on the English version of the roadmap now Smiley I must took it all together and translate it from Polish Smiley

The trees project (and its website) is being contructed now. In short words: it's about the tree plantations in misc countries, some of they are pure investment plantations, some other plantations are investment and service plants for the agriculture (support the local ecosystem). The idea is to plant/buy/sell (during they grow) and after some years to cut and sell (long term investment). There will be only a few coin you'll be able to use there, You can find one of those plantations when you'll investigate BTL coin.

Now I can see that the diff has lowered so it's a very good opportunity to mine bigger amounts than on Sunday Smiley it's only 50 coins a block and long 5-minutes time, so the difference in the difficulty makes a veeery big difference in your income:)
