https://i.imgur.com/LHcYiMc.pngJust a rough draft. Need to work on the hologram a little bit more, but figured I'd throw in what I've got so far. Any opinions? Edit: Fixed a typo.

Well here you have my design. I would like to call it a chemical physical Bitcoin. On this coin Bitcoin is referred to as "absentis elementum" which is latein and translated into english means the missing element. The rest of the abbreviations are the most precious metals from the chemical periodictable that are known to mankind. Au = gold Ag = silver Pt = platinum Hg = mercury Pd = palladium Ir = Iridium Ti = Thallium Ru = Ruthenium Rh = Rhodium All the metals are linked together by chemical bonds. The Bitcoin symbol is the biggest and thus represent its superior status above all the other precious metals. The reverse side contains the holographic image. Here the bitcoin symbol can be seen hanging high above a colosseum image. The bitcoin symbol is representing the power and family prestige over all the other metals. This is my idea for the packaging. I was thinking the packaging will be made out of metal. Probably gold plated silver with the same 3d graphic design like on the front side of my coin design.

This is my design, it needs more work on it, maybe I will upload a fix soon. edit: added watermark please can you submit a version of this in gold? FYI, all those small gears are going to be very difficult to engrave into a working die. And all the teeth in the gears will wear down exceptionally fast when the die is striking the coins. The first few coins will have sharp strikes but very quick the die will wear and the final coins will be dull. Not to be a jerk, but I have a friend who owns a private mint and while I'm not an expert I know a thing or two about the process.

Hello, here is my entry. This first image shows the outside of the box, which I see as a brushed metal cube, with a magnetic Bitcoin closure. https://i.imgur.com/KQ4jlc9.jpgThe back would carry the Coinographic company name. https://i.imgur.com/NInr6Lo.jpgThis is the box open with the coin inside. Black velvet would support the coin, and a metal plate would present details. The interior sides of the box would resemble computer circuitry as a green background with the metallic color showing through. https://i.imgur.com/UZE3n5x.jpgAnd this is the front of the coin. I haven't gotten to the back yet, but it is coming! https://i.imgur.com/J4d7iAd.jpg

for clarification, does the contest include box design or not? I understood earlier that Coinographic had already decided upon using the similar wooden boxes made in the UK for all coins, thus taking that part off. just wanting to make sure we are on the same page.

Clean design based on a paper wallet design I made. https://i.imgur.com/cNYUsgk.pngI seen you mention square coins. Not sure if this doable. Introducing bullion block cube. Imagine holding one of these blocks and rolling it around in your hand while sitting in your executive leather office chair and smoking a expensive imported hand rolled cigar. I know you can. Features the bitcoin symbol on two sides. The symbols connect making it look like a wrapped box. The amount and edition is on the back. Perfect gift. The box that holds it would look the same. There are 3 options for this design. https://i.imgur.com/8wOVDDD.jpg

Ok guys and girls. it's time to introduce my luxury coindesign. Firstly I would like to present the front side of the coin. To start off, we have the binary code around the outer side of the coin. When translating the binary code you get the words: "Satoshi Nakamoto". On the US 1$ fiat note you will find the pyramid with the eye of providence. I wanted to show that Bitcoin or the virtual currencies in a common sense are the opposite to fiat money. That is why I turned around the pyramid and instead of the eye of providence, I used the Bitcoinsymbol BTC. I also included the rays of light around the reflected pyramid. These rays of light should symbolise the glory that Bitcoin will bring to humankind (divine providence). Above the pyramid you will see the word: " REFLECTERE" spelt backwords. This is latin for reflected and symbolises the pyramid which is turned around. Also by using the word "REFLECTERE" the coin gets a touch of a little bit of conspiracy theory. So summarised in one sentence: Bitcoin will "turn around - REFLECTERE" the world of fiat money as we know it. Finally I decided to put the lions head as the main symbol on this coindesign. The lion is the king of all animals. And I wanted to show that Bitcoin is the king of all virtual currencies and has a superior stand above the fiat money currencies. "MMXIV" is greek and can be translated into 2014: Comming to the back side of the coin. I decided to use the lion's head and the reflected pyramide with the Bitcoinsymbol again. Here you can see the lion's head with the holographic background: And finally my idea for the packaging. I was thinking the packaging will be made out of the same wood like the current packagings that coinographic is using. However, the packaging for my coin would be covered in a high gloss black finish varnish:

Very cool designs so far! I would like to enter my submission as well. With all the merchant adoption happening this year, I thought it would be appropriate to do a design that commemorates merchants, naming the coin, "Year of the Merchant". The front of the coin features a young merchant peddling her wares. The series of dots and dashes around the inner edge are actually morse code, spelling out "Vires in Numeris". The back hologram continues the merchant theme by featuring a merchant's stall with the public key. That's pretty much it in a nutshell. https://i.imgur.com/ePYxgjy.jpg?1
