Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

Hi FT,

just a few clarifications:

Any coin not moved from the genesis block become invalid after 2 years

This applies to only bitcoin/dogecoin distribution right? since they are the only ones to recieve anything in the genesis block?

All shares are distributed in the genesis block. The rule applies to all shares. Transactions from the genesis block are not valid inputs from block(2years).

These coins are vested, and mature over a period starting 2 months from launch, finishing 14months after launch

The rest of the 10% allocations happen from 2 -> 14 months after launch, so their is no time limit thereafter which you will consider distribution void if not moved? Also how do you technically ensure the allocation gets distributed over time? You have some kind of receiver list like Devcoin does?

Each distribution has it's own transaction, the transaction id is used to generate a random number which is used to determine the transaction maturation block. Large distributions are spread across multiple transactions to ensure a (somewhat) even spread across time.

Ahh I see.. so you had some script to break large distributions down to finer grain over time based on some heuristic. Ok but if the last transaction happens 14 months after launch that means they have only 10 months to move those coins or else they are destroyed? Maybe it should be 2 years after the last transaction so 34 months?

Difficulty too high!

It will adjust after the next block, whenever that happens.

Glad to see another Proof-of-Chain crypto, pioneered by CLAMS.

We hope that you are as trustworthy as we have been with our users - as importing your privateKeys into a foreign client should not be taken lightly.

I am on block 1311, block explorer is on 1307.
I guess this is a fork but longer chain is the winner right?

No, the fork with checkpointed block always prevails, the client should disconnect the longer fork if it doesn't contain checkpoints - latest checkpointed block is 1308. Try a re-index if a restart doesn't fix it.

The reason for this is that we can't have someone winning/losing on a block, and then trying to overwrite that result with a longer fork. So blocks get checkpointed and that means they are final.

The QT GUI has a panel where the numbers can be selected and ticket played, however the transaction is very straightforward to create so I'd hope to see other interfaces emerge for it too.

A ticket is simply a transaction of a specific format.

It must have 8 outputs.

The first six contain the numbers played, in satoshi, the seventh contains the stake.

The address for the first 7 inputs must be the same - LTSLTSLTSLTSLTSLTSLTSLTSLTSLUWUscn

The eight must be a change address. The prize is sent to the change address.

example
LTSLTSLTSLTSLTSLTSLTSLTSLTSLUWUscn 1
LTSLTSLTSLTSLTSLTSLTSLTSLTSLUWUscn 2
LTSLTSLTSLTSLTSLTSLTSLTSLTSLUWUscn 3
LTSLTSLTSLTSLTSLTSLTSLTSLTSLUWUscn 4
LTSLTSLTSLTSLTSLTSLTSLTSLTSLUWUscn 5
LTSLTSLTSLTSLTSLTSLTSLTSLTSLUWUscn 6
LTSLTSLTSLTSLTSLTSLTSLTSLTSLUWUscn 1000
LeYn5jtB4xuZGCBzzaSsszZEUvJNPkvHFR 500

Be careful not to play a ticket without a change transaction - it is not a valid ticket.

Note: Updated 16/07/2014 with latest information

'sendmany' gives me:

Invalid parameter, duplicated address: LTSLTSLTSLTSLTSLTSLTSLTSLTSLUWUscn (code -8)

Any solutions?

Suggestion: add a "remember" checkbox when playing a ticket, because I play the same set of numbers all the time, so I don't have to re-enter them each time.
