using sgminer.exe --algorithm myriadcoin-groestl -o stratum+tcp://tty.minep.it:3339 user pass

and the thing wont run. cant i just use -k groestlcoin?

It should be -u user -p pass.

yes all that is fine i just shortened the end. it runs with -k groestlcoin but all shares are rejected. so that means if i just change the algo statement i should be mining not so?

rofl -k instead of --algorithm

why is there advice to use --algorithm in the first place? such misleading

Interested in a first exchange, wonder what the price will be.

Premine address would be nice too.

i notice that after a few minutes my local difficulty gets so high that i can get like 1 accepted share every 30 seconds or worse. difficulty rises to 1200+. is this a pool setting or how the blockchain operates? if i stop and start over i can get accepted shares more regularly again. until the diff gets too high again.

Most pools have vardiff so you don't spam the server with low diff shares. It has no effect on your payout since you're getting a few high diff shares vs. a bunch of low diff shares.

i understand vardiff. im just wondering if it's set like this by the individual pool configuration. u saying even if i get 1 share a minute ill still get the same payout even though my worker seems to drop off the pool?

Number of shares alone doesn't matter. If you're submitting 10 shares a minute with an average diff of 10, or 1 share a minute with an average diff of 100, you'll get the same payout either way.

ok that makes sense i guess depending on the block reward system. seems better now tho. already have 2 coins with the equivalent of 1mh scrypt.

I'd like to draw everyone's attention to this coin: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=613854.480 , of which this is a blatant copy. Not only does it share the same structures etc, but it also takes the probability based random rewards. This isn't just any old copy & paste and make something new, this is ridiculous.

Confirmed, only block times are different. Anything else is just copied. Oh wait, there is another difference, Dvorakoin has less premine.

This coin is worthless.
