What's the forums policy on posts that are quoting a message which has been deleted? For example, when reporting posts and they have been deleted, occasionally someone has already quoted that message and replied. The response may be constructive and isn't a reportable offense on it's own.
I see this occasionally in the altcoin section and have never known what to do so have left it.

If the post is substantial (as in more than a few lines and is actually something new / not rehashing old ideas / arguments / content / etc.) and doesn't rely on the deleted post (e.g. a rebuttal, using it as context, etc.), it can stay. In most cases, I delete any discussion stemming from a deleted post.
For anyone wondering: going to add (and change a few) FAQ questions on the Merit system once everything cools down and theymos stops adding additional features to it.

Is it worth adding something to the guidelines on this? Something like if you see an offtopic or spam post please do not quote it but use the report to moderator function instead. This was something I had to learn by having a couple of posts deleted.

Your signature is the only place on the forum you can put referral links. You cannot, however, put a link in your signature until you gain the rank of Member.

Looks like the spam problem still exists, is there any rule regarding " Locking Topics"? As an Anti-Spam measure (not as a rule), I'll leave a link to my thread here: Lock Thread(s) After Getting Enough Replies.I saw that most of those spam threads' owners doesn't even know how to close the discussion, I have sent a PM to some of them requesting to close their threads. ....Hopefully, most will respond.

Is there a way to unsubscribe from threads you have posted in; that is, to remove those threads from the "Show new replies to your posts" function?

No, but you can use the "Watchlist" option instead (last option from the list, upper left). It gives you the ability to sub/unsub.

The only way to remove threads from the "Show new replies to your posts" function is to delete all your post in that thread. It's one of the forums frustrations when you post an early reply to something and then it evolves into a spam megathread.

Watchlist is working more or less like "Show new replies..." does on most other forums. I can only imagine how long the list of threads is on the show new replies screen for some of you hero/legendary types as mine already takes up half a page.

This isn't explicitly against the rules so unless that's changed it won't be added.

Added one and adjusted a few FAQ questions due to the recently introduced Merit system, added the Polish translation to the list of translations: Q: Why can't I put <insert something like a link, image or color> into my signature? A: There are signature restrictions based on member rank:
- Newbie: No styling (including links) allowed. Max 50 characters. - Jr. Member: Links allowed. Max 150 characters. - Member: Unlimited length. - Full: Color allowed. - Sr. Member: Size allowed - Hero: Background color allowed

Thanks mprep for your updates. I think it would be more informative to include - Member: Links allowed. 4000 characters.or to quote the following table by roslinpl. Lesson 1: Forum's signature styling rules RANK

Often I meet on the forum the inscription "[Suspicious link removed]". Are these links removed manually or automatically? Is there a database of suspicious links on the forum? Who replenishes this base? Thanks for the answer.
