It's always going to be a risk but I'm also starting to think it might be fairly safe to buy in at a low and then just dump when these price rises happen because of the wild fluctuations. Would've made quite a tasty profit recently. Might give it a go next time the price falls to a low .

If young and employed and little life savings, I guess it makes sense. If any of those cinditions is untrue, I'd call it unwise to foolish.

The younger you are, the more risks and long term investments you can make but a good way to accumulate wealth without leverage is to keep saving, diversify and not loose money on investments.

What's up bitcoin noobs? Just dropping in to remind everyone what a cool cat I am. Still got 97.5% of my life savings in Bitcoin. Still coasting at 250%+ ROI from time of divestment from that worthless scam called fiat. It is not impressive if we don't know how much your life savings is Tough shit, I'm not here to impress you, I'm here to remind everyone what a cool (and giant-ballsacked) cat I am. Fuck you, you poser. Not only do I have my life savings in bitcoin, and I am a cool cat, but I have a cool cat avatar to prove it. You're not cool until you get one yourself

You have 99% chance of losing value with a saving account

There is nothing wrong having part of your wealth in Bitcoin, and I do have. Any investment is risky, so saying keeping your life savings elsewhere is smarter is pretty ignorant

You have to invest where you can expect a positive return over the long run. Bitcoin may be a 30% chance of quintupling your money in 2years

Investing is always risky but it's those who take the risk that reap the rewards. Of course the opposite is also true if they investment fails but you've got to speculate to accumulate .

Of course there is nothing wrong with it, but most people would agree that putting all of your life savings into bitcoin is very risky and maybe even a silly risk, but obviously that is up to the individual on how much money they are willing to put into it. The risk could pay dividends of course, but the opposite is also true.

My main bank offers a "high interest" saving account, minimum $5K balance required. A whopping 1.05% interest. Wow, that's a real good place to park my money.
Mine is around 7% minimum.Lucky me huh
