Can I get a quick pointer as to what is corrupting the blockchain, is the mini-blockchain concept the problem ?

I got the issue when syncing from scratch only. When using a downloaded blockchain, the wallet worked for months.

The block chain is the main innovation of Bitcoin. It is the first distributed timestamping system.

I think i can take time from my own work tonight to try a fresh sync and observe any errors or abnormalities.

There's a possible attack that mentioned in the whitepaper when there's not enough contributing members with newly synchronizing wallets

That is a different blockchain exists in the network that claims to have higher mining effort (higher total difficulty) and the wallet tries to sync with that version of the blockchain and gets stuck at some point where it can't sync anymore and I believe that point is 7 days behind current time because that's the point where a real blockchain exists on the network

and because the "fake" blockchain seems to have higher difficulty the wallet doesn't sync with the current version of the blockchain

I'm not even sure if this is why the newly synchronizing wallet gets stuck, but that's the attack mentioned in the whitepaper, however if this is the case I think it should be straight forward to fix by making the wallet downloads the other available version of the blockchain when it can't synchronize with the fake one.

pretty close to just bailing on this coin myself tbh...I try n keep faith but always some dodgey shit goin on , wether exchange is delisting it or some other error.. private miner kernals... 1 miner doing 30% world hashrate........etc etc i could keep going  ..... I totally cant even imagine how u must feel pallas .

Community always asking for shit... with no incentive for those that could help , just take take take and never give . I am sorry i blabbled on n attracted so many ppl to it , cause they all want want want without giving anything in return .

Folks hit this hard since then.... and Amph and yourself were right , the profitability went pretty bad ... to now.... where it aint even profitable..... i may as well just go mine on nicehash id earn more at this current moment .

I aint gonna lie either , i am always honest and straight up . You were so worried about me increasing the world hash when i asked you about buying your private miner...... i had 3 gpus only... not even high end ones.....you rly have no idea how small time i am in this mining scene , although you could have trusted me.. and as i said.... its the coin i tell no one about... let alone share a private miner for it .

Your answer rly twisted me.... so i went and told everyone how profitable it rly was . now look at it , heh . Killed it for myself , and never got a thing for giving out information that attracted miners to it ( not that i expected it...... but the guy who put me onto xcn i legit sent him 1k coin I mined on a single 750ti (all i had when i started mining it) for passing on the info and cause i was stocked i found a sick coin to mine on my old nvidia hardware .

  buncha kernts Smiley

TOO MANY MISSED OPPORTUNITIES!!!   buy any shitcoin today double your money tomorrow Tongue ol crypto woes
Dont leave coins in Bter exchange ...they are straight up thieves and dont even reply when your coins disappear Sad

May be there was a problem while creating the torrent file.

I have created a newer one

I include the following:

I included the same.
And, before making the archive, I made sure the files wheren't open by any process, using "fuser".

Ahah, Thanks!

I'm a windows user anyway and don't know the equivalent of "fuser" in windows but at least I would wait for a while after closing the wallet before copying the files.

I am running Windows' cryptonite-qt.exe wallet, would it help the network if I leave it running?

Yes it will help by validating blocks and helping other peers to sync. Better if inbound access is enabled by opening the port on the router or enabling UPNP (must be enabled on the router as well, it might be by default).

OK I will let it run. How do I check if my UPNP is enabled? Sorry I am not tech savvy.

First enable it on the wallet preferences.
Then wait some minutes (better some tens) and run "getmininginfo" on the console.
If you see some nodes with "inbound: true", that means you are receiving connections from the outside.
