What I find disconcerting is that only players with a net loss are going to be compensated -- but presumedly only players with a large net profit would have been flagged for the cheating  (it's a lot less suspicious stealing from someone who has a net profit) -- but now those users aren't going to be paid back. Hm.

Also, the screenshot of the code is insulting -- it tells us absolutely nothing. How about showing us the commit that contained this exploit...

So I was right, I feel bad for the investors, gosh sad day in the dice world.  as I said I had a feeling it was him, and now we are going to say bye to dicebitco, I think he tryed to solve the issues but he tried to be honest and people pushed them to the edge and now the investors are going to pay for it.

Thanks Dooglas, all I can say is wow.... amazing that it was caught and verified.

Sadly, I think we will see more of this in the future with other new ventures, you have small development teams, geographically disperse, dealing with a very fluid currency in a burgeoning marketplace. Without a standards-based development process that incorporates a change management process with separation of responsibilities, mistakes in trust leading to loss are going to happen. Were in a turbulent market where people are throwing their money at anything that even hints of a return without due diligence.

Great work from the community here though, without this band of brothers, we'd be in much more trouble.
