I have similar situation like you ^^^. I just missed the giveaway although I was having good number of Bitcoins in my possession. I just came across for updates and saw someone asking about snapshot which was taken yesterday. Anyways I made good profit from last day's crash by buying at lower and selling at high. Next month I will be linking my bitcoins to get from free distribution. Hope it didn't reach to its limit yet.

If you can sign a message or know the private keys of the address where bitcoins were stored when snapshot was taken then you are fine and easily claim your coins Here are the steps you have to do to claim the coins 1. Authenticate with Facebook. 2. Enter your Stellar account ID. 3. Enter your Bitcoin address. For P2SH (multisig) addresses, you will be asked for a redeem script. 4. Sign a displayed message. For P2PKH (normal bitcoin address) only one signature is required. For P2SH (multisig) addresses you need to provide as many signatures as required to release the funds from a P2SH address. 5. If signatures are correct, lumens will be sent to your Stellar account.

Hi, but after the coins giveaway won't the price of Stellar drop because there will be more coins in circulation?
I think this giveaway will make stellar drop deeply because of free coins from bitcoin and xrp holders. I heard that it's over 16 billion free coins in the circle . what do you think? Stellar uses innovative way to deal with issues traditionally associated with cryptocoins. In my opinion its future is bright. Do not pay attention to the current price drop. Consider it as your best opportunity to become eventually a stellar-whale

The platform will offer a total of 16 billion Stellar, which is 16% of the initial tokens, and anyone who has bitcoin balance in their wallets can redeem STR equal to the total proportion of bitcoins they own.

I have used Mycelium wallet to outline the steps, but it should be pretty similar for the bitcoin wallets. I have written a simple step by step tutorial with images on "how to claim free stellar" for those who are not familiar with Bitcoin wallets sign message functionality. Check it out here, upvote if it helps https://steemit.com/cryptocurrency/@sniperz/tutorial-how-to-claim-free-stellar-using-mycelium-or-any-other-bitcoin-wallet-with-imagesI have similar situation like you ^^^. I don't think there is another snapshot for the next month. If you had BTC in your wallet before 26th June then you are qualified to claim . Claim ends on 27th August 2017.

And its 155% of xlm in circulation! So this bunch of motherf**ker are burning all XLM owners! They are burning us! We are burnt! nope bro , it will'nt all claimed , stellar has clever strategy to list poloniex where biggest exchanger mean big amount bitcoin was stored there on their Participating exchanges list to fool some more bitcoin holder to put their bitcoin there , so they cant claim lumens that they want , so maybe 16 billion will not fully claimed.
nice one stellar

I don't think it is stellar's fault. Stellar and polo most probably talked about the upcoming distribution and the latter maybe give a go signal hence the former listing it on their site as with some other few exchanges too. Polo denied it the day the screen shot was made already. Polo have like 4 months to rescind stellar's post.
