Beli... Please take a while to examine the reasons that people are starving... It is often down to states interference, ignorance or brainwashing
Nope, actually it's the profit motive causing us to waste 5/9ths of all the food we produce. Here, I'll do the work for you.

Remember Aaron Swartz, a 26 year old computer scientist who died defending the free flow of information.

But if not for profit motive, believe me the whole 9/9 would go waste, wait there wont be even 1/9th of food produced if people are not motivated by profit..

then famines will follow, I will give you a real example..

India followed Fabian socialism because one of  the founding father Nehru (friend of Gandhi) embraced Fabian socialism, and for for next 50 years the country had many famines, fast forward to 1993, India liberalised the economy and now yes lots of food is wasted, but no one is hungry now..

If it wasn't for profit, even atoms wont move.

I will watch this video another time.

But you sound like a socialist/communist. This ideology is deeply flawed and is simply dangerous. I will comment on the video when I have time. But if it is simply showing how much food is wasted and if we all just gave more of our property away to people (lowering my standard of living and destroying incentives for everyone) it will get short thrift.

I despise needless poverty. But I am willing to live in an imperfect world and not resort to fantasies of central planned utopias.

Smartest comment I've heard on this thread in a while. This is kinda what I'm looking forward to with the colonization of Mars because it's going to be a repeat of the colonization of the Americas minus the shoving aside of a native population. People will try to form their own little Utopia communities whenever they can either find a rich backer or pool their resources to pay for it, but they will probably either give it up or fail. As long as they can eat crow when they come crawling over to my colony with whatever they could carry and don't try to force their ideology on me, I'm not going to complain.

It's because of the prosperity that results from capitalism that we can afford to throw away excess food.

And where are these starving people?  America is experiencing epidemic obesity.

I don't want to be part of this "social contract".

Fun fact: Private Property Rights and the Non-Aggression Principle are (or would be) a social contract as well.

In its actual nature, property is just an abstract idea. At the bottom line you can only hold and own what you can defend, for as long as you can defend it.

"Whoever knows how to take, to defend, the thing, to him belongs property." --Max Stirner, individualist anarchist.

(btw this is also closer to the nature of Bitcoin than libertarian philosophy. You only own bitcoins as long as you can defend them, i.e. keep your keys safe.)

Also, you don't own yourself. Go ask a lion in the wild. Nature owns you.

In the face of this reality, some more (voluntary) "collectivist" ideas are rooted in the insight that it might be better to stand together and co-operate at times.

This is equalivant to "might is right".  True within the wild,
but humans are capable of a higher level of interaction
that doesn't require force/violence.  Functioning on this
higher level is the hallmark of an evolved civilization.

Do you condone the actions of hackers/scammers and
say that because they were able to take them, that
its perfectly ok?

Is this what bitcoin is finally

1) A currency
2) An asset
3) An ideology Manipulator

3 Cheesy , An Ideology Manipulator , Because it already brainwash people  Grin

The brainwashing just started: now they have to convince people that 1 Bitcoin must be bought for 40k, 50k, or 100k USD.

If i am a billionaire i will buy a single bitcoin for 100k thus making a new revolution and thousands of millionaires around the globe

Africa, Bangladesh, Haiti, the poorer parts of China & India. The "global south". Yeah, no shit Americans aren't starving. The USA is the military hegemon, we (the "global north", USA + EU) benefit from the relative poverty of the global south.

You want to know where starvation and horrifying poverty happen? You look need no further than the tags on your clothes.

This falsely assumes humans aren't part of nature. At minimum humans partially own of themselves, and as an "abstract" concept it is a wise ethical principle to respect self-ownership.

In the face of this reality, some more (voluntary) "collectivist" ideas are rooted in the insight that it might be better to stand together and co-operate at times.

Straw man. One stands together in peace and solidarity while following the NAP. Suggesting that one must use coercion to cooperate isn't merely dishonest, but contradictory. Cooperation can only occur in a group if all of the members "cooperate", and anything short of that involves violence and coercion of the majority against the minority.(The opposite of standing together)

You want to know where starvation and horrifying poverty happen?

Notice the repeated appeals to emotion fallacies being represented here instead of confronting the historical reality that the proposed socialist and communist solutions create greater human suffering regardless of the proponents intentions.

Most anarcho-communist societies I have researched quickly re-integrate some form of property ownership and currency after re-learning what humans have tested many times before. Even free from the state demanding taxes upon them they still live at a lower standard of living than the rest of the world which embraces capitalism.

Are there any examples of societies who remove property rights and/or currency which don't result in disaster?

I still believe in twelve Olympian gods..

ancient beliefs are not so foolish.  For example, worshipping the sun...

The sun is worthy of being worshipped.  With the power far greater
than all of nuclear bombs, it sustains all life on Earth.
