There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

I'm wondering, Is anybody else here having problems connecting to the suprnova.cc pool?

I'm getting the following messages: -

Code:
[2016-10-30 08:33:22] Stratum connection failed: Failed to connect to xmg.suprnova.cc port 7128: Connection refused
[2016-10-30 08:33:22] ...retry after 30 seconds

i'm using minerd on http://mining.m-hash.com without any problem, walleted over 16 xmg/24h/4 cores

Good point, thank you.

Thanks Groggin.

BTW: Do you know that you still have a link to Cryptsy in your sig. Its been dead for ages =)

I always had lots of issues with supernova and moved to makikiners. The time it took to get 25xmg in superova I get about 33 on maximiners
Starmman I am browsing on https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=735170 but all the links to download a miners return "not found"
...the search continues  Grin

Thanks for the heads-up on the pools - I'll take a look into maximiners, my rewards have been a lot less recently - I thought it was down to additional traffic - didn't think it could be the pool. I managed to download the m-minerd from the thread yesterday and benchmarked it against the spexx miner - spexx was about 10% faster for my setup.

There are just over 1000XMG available for trade on the new exchange now, if there are 20 posts per page then the cost could be as much as 300XMG, not the best ROI so far. I'll keep an eye out on the amount on the exchange.

hey best time to collect Magi's as we all seen that the price really showing some downfall better to collect more and more
knowing that it will be bouncing back on its hype and make more profits for the strong holders as we also knew that theres
a good interest that followed. good luck Magi.

Indeed, lets see what happens this weekend. I think the price will depend upon how BTC fares - a lot of people are shifting their attention towards BTC and away from alts whilst the BTC price is being pumped. If the price stabilises then we could be back into a bull. We'll need a very strong sentiment for Magi to rise during a BTC surge.

Just a heads up, I've had a miner mining at the multipool for a few weeks without any payouts and just looked and the site says the pool is now closed.  Anyone with miners that mine there will get no errors because you are mining at Nicehash but you no longer have a valid payout address.  This appears to have happened in the last couple of days.  Anyone know any info about it?

There was not a lot of people mining there at all, I only saw maybe 3 or 4 of us in the last month, so this doesn't affect most people, but if you are one of those people, you probably should move your miner.

that's right so taking advantage of this current situation with btc rally will really allow us to hold more and more cheap magi and those who make a panic will cry out loud after the coin regain its value is seen bigger picture in the long run, so while waiting better to open my wallet and keep it store and stake to earn even more from pos service.

Yep, trying to stick to my strategy which is helping the accumulation process - but didn't keep the current BTC trend into account when setting up a range trade so accumulated some at a price that was too high last week.

(Speculation here) I think the price will drop a little more and rebound sharply when the BTC price drops, or a steady rebound if the BTC price holds. If the BTC keeps rising, I think XMG will find a price level where eventually it follows the BTC trend.
